About This Pub
Ah, The Crown & Sceptre – it's one of those pubs that just makes you smile the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for a proper meal. The food really steals the show too; think hearty, homemade dishes like mouth-watering roasts and puddings that leave you wanting seconds, all at prices that won't dent your wallet. It's got that cosy, rustic feel that's ideal for catching up with friends or marking a special occasion, and the outdoor seating is brilliant for those nicer days. On the flip side, it's a shame it's not dog-friendly indoors, so if you're out with your four-legged mate, you might have to stick to the garden or find another spot. Plus, the hours can vary a bit, with it closed one day a week, so planning ahead is a must to avoid disappointment. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out – the high ratings speak for themselves, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, just go in with realistic expectations and you'll have a whale of a time.

-
Outdoor seating is a real treat, especially on a sunny day, and it's great for groups looking to unwind.
-
Prices are really reasonable, so you can enjoy a pint, some grub, and maybe a wine without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
It's not dog-friendly inside, which might put off anyone wanting to bring their furry friend along for a meal.
-
The opening hours can be a bit patchy, with the pub closed one day a week and varying times, so it's worth checking ahead.
-
As an unclaimed business, things might not always run as smoothly as they could – but hey, it's still a solid spot overall.

Great pub garden. Friendly too! Unfortunately not dog friendly inside the pub so didn’t manage to eat there.
Lovely vibes here. Just celebrated my mums birthday and my dad's retirement. Staff are truly wonderful and the food was fantastic. We will be back!. Thank you all for a fabulous evening. 💕
Lovely pub with lovely staff. The atmosphere is very homely and the food is home cooked, fresh and delicious. My friend loved having lunch and the left overs were packed for home, which was very thoughtful and lovely considering the present situation with living crisis cost. Desert was mouth-watering and considering it was freshly home made, it was served very quick. Certainly will return there. (The outside area is lovely.)
