About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Crestwood Pub, it really warms me up – it's one of those places that feels like a proper local hideaway, tucked away on Blenheim Road. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely, welcoming atmosphere where the staff bend over backwards to make your visit special, especially if you're popping in for an event or just a casual meal. The food stands out a mile; people rave about the fresh cobs and pizzas, and there's even talk of buffets that are generous to a fault, all without breaking the bank. It's spot on for families or if you've got your dog in tow, giving it that community feel we all love in a good pub. On the downside, it seems not every barperson is up for a chat, which might leave things a bit quiet if you're in the mood for banter. Plus, those steps to the beer garden and entrance could be a nuisance for anyone with mobility concerns, and the ale choices aren't exactly extensive, so it might not thrill the beer aficionados among us. All in all, it's a solid pick for a pint and a bite, with plenty of heart, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind before you head over.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are really friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home, especially for events like celebrations.
  • The food is spot on – fresh cobs, tasty pizzas, and buffets that leave you wanting more, all at good value prices.
  • It's a welcoming spot for families and dogs, with a cosy, quaint atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed get-together.
  • The pub has a great vibe overall, with a nice beer garden and a solid selection of drinks to enjoy.
Cons
  • Some staff might not be the chattiest, which can make the experience feel a bit less lively at times.
  • There are a few accessibility issues, like steps to the beer garden and entrance, that could be tricky for some.
  • The ale selection is a tad limited, so if you're after a wide variety, you might find it lacking.

The barman wasn't very chatty or interacted with customers. Prices were good. Had to negotiate a step to get to beer garden and also into the pub. It was a nice quaint pub though

We hosted a celebration of life at the Crestwood. Staff were very helpful but non intrusive and provided a lovely buffet with more food than we could eat. I can thoroughly recommend this place for an event.

Nice little local pub. Friendly owners. Kid and dog friendly. Could have done with a wider ale selection for my personal tastes.
