About This Pub

Ah, The Craven Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local spot in Coventry, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats, the staff really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, and there's something so relaxing about settling into that beer garden with a cold one on a nice day. The food's a highlight too; that sourdough pizza comes highly recommended, and it's all served up in a friendly atmosphere with a jukebox playing tunes and sports flickering on the screens – ideal for catching a match with mates. Plus, being dog-friendly adds a lovely touch if you're popping in with your pooch. But, to keep it real, I've heard a few grumbles about the doormen; they can come across as a bit heavy-handed at times, which might spoil the fun for some. And while it's buzzing on weekends, it does get a bit quiet mid-week, so if you're after a lively crowd, you might want to plan accordingly. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, as long as you go in with your eyes open to the odd downside.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in
  • They've got a cracking beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun with a refreshing pint
  • The food is spot on, especially the sourdough pizza, and it's served daily with a great selection of drinks to boot
  • It's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out with your four-legged mate, and the atmosphere is lively with a jukebox, pool, and sports on the screens
Cons
  • Some of the doormen have a bit of a rough attitude and have been known to be overly aggressive, which can put a damper on the evening
  • It tends to be quiet during the week, feeling a tad empty unless there's a pool match or something on, so it might not always hit the spot for a buzzing night

Absolutely terrible place doorman we're going around bullying people for no apparent reason. With a terrible attitude. I suggest to get more custom in this place is to hire more professional doorman. These doorman wouldn't stand a chance on a door in Birmingham. Especially the one with a tattoo on his hand.

Me and my friend came here on bank holiday Monday 26th August in the evening. Its a lovely pub with a juke box. There were two ladies working behind the bar who were very friendly. The lady think her name was Kayla remembers your drink after the first one. The locals are also friendly. I would definitely go back here.
