About This Pub

Ah, let's chat about the Craven Street Club – it's one of those Irish pubs in Coventry that really pulls you in with its welcoming feel and top-notch beer. From the reviews, it sounds like a cracking spot for a laugh, especially with the karaoke and singing nights that get everyone involved, and the outside garden is a nice touch for those warmer evenings. The staff come across as hard-working and friendly, which adds to the homely atmosphere, and it's budget-friendly too, so you won't feel like you're splashing out just for a pint. But, on the flip side, there's that one review mentioning some discriminatory behaviour, which is a real downer and something that makes me hesitate – it's not what you'd expect from an Irish pub, of all places. Overall, if you're after a traditional night out with good craic, it might be worth giving it a go, but I'd say keep your eyes open and trust your gut if things don't feel right. It's got a solid 4.5 rating from plenty of positive experiences, so it's mostly a winner, but being upfront about the bad bits helps everyone make an informed choice.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer is spot on and the staff are genuinely friendly, making you feel right at home.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere with live entertainment like karaoke and singing nights – perfect for a fun evening.
  • Weekends are always buzzing, and the outside garden adds extra space for enjoying a pint in the fresh air.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced, which makes it a great choice for a casual get-together without breaking the bank.
  • The Irish theme creates a warm, welcoming vibe that's full of character and charm.
Cons
  • There's a serious concern raised in one review about discriminatory behaviour, like refusing entry to Irish travellers, which is really disappointing and casts a shadow on the place.
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from the listings, which might confuse folks trying to plan a visit.

Wouldn’t waste my time on this place as the staff and owner are racist. Funny as an Irish pub doesn’t serve Irish people. Me and my family was refused entry because we were Irish travellers there was only 4 of us

Great place for the craic. Always busy at the weekends. Outside garden now so a big more room. Staff work very hard. Great night for entertainment. Singing.
