About This Pub
Ah, The Crane in Basildon – it's one of those pubs that really hits the spot for a casual get-together or cheering on the footie with your lot. From what I've gathered, the staff are often spot-on, super friendly and making everyone feel welcome, which is just what you want after a long day. The atmosphere is buzzing, especially during events like the Women's Euros or karaoke nights, and they've got some brilliant deals on pints that keep things affordable. Plus, with all the sports channels and being dog-friendly, it's a versatile little spot that's easy to pop into, whether you're near Barleylands Farm Park or just in the area. On the flip side, though, service isn't always top-notch; a few people have mentioned rude encounters, particularly when bookings take over and things get a bit chaotic. It's a pity there's no real food beyond snacks, so if you're hoping for a hearty meal, you might need to head elsewhere. And it can get noisy with some colourful language, which isn't ideal if you're after a peaceful pint. Overall, it's a solid choice for a good time, but I'd say go in with realistic expectations – it's got that community feel, but like any pub, it has its off moments.

Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss; some folks have had rude experiences, especially with bookings or when the place gets busy.
-
No proper food on offer, just snacks, which might leave you a bit peckish if you're after a full meal.
-
It can get quite loud at times, with strong language flying about, so it's not always the quietest spot for a chat.
-
Limited sports coverage, like only showing the Premier League, which might disappoint fans of other teams.
-
Not many discounts or loyalty perks, which feels a shame when you're a regular dropping in.

Amazing customer service staff was amazing and super welcoming,
Would defo recommend, nice and quite through the week and a good night out on the weekend, no food unfortunately apart from snacks
Very poor service overall. Very little discounts and customer loyalty scheme. Very small and inconsiderate staff.
If you have a booking, arrive at the booking time and not an hour earlier and start telling paying customers to move. Very rude way to be.
Booking out the whole pub for some party.
Staff need to learn some manner and I won't be spending my money again.
I'm a local and always here but today's behavior is totally unacceptable.
Karaoke night, brilliant fun, bar staff are lovely, great pub to have a great night, need more of them.
Nice and clean loads of TVs only show the premier league not good as a Leicester fan.
Only a few people were in the pub but it was very loud and the language was not great and that was just the women.
Wicked atmosphere. Friendly staff, Good local pub
