About This Pub

Ah, The Court Bar – it's one of those unpretentious pubs in Paisley that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks absolutely love the friendly vibe; it's brilliant for nipping in after a St. Mirren match or just for a few drinks with mates, where you're bound to strike up some great conversations with the regulars. The beer's fresh and it's all pretty inexpensive, which is a win for keeping things relaxed and affordable. On the flip side, it's cash only, so remember to hit the ATM first, and the drink selection is a bit on the traditional side – think Tennants as the main lager option, which might leave you wanting more variety. Plus, the place has that old-school charm with nicotine stains still lingering from before the smoking ban, so it could do with a bit of a spruce-up to feel more modern. Overall, if you're after a genuine, welcoming spot for a laugh and a pint, it's worth a visit, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea if you prefer something a tad more polished.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a welcoming spot with a friendly atmosphere, perfect for chatting with locals and enjoying a pint after a St. Mirren game.
  • The beer is fresh and reasonably priced, making it a great choice for a casual night out without breaking the bank.
  • You'll often find good conversations and a sense of community, especially if you're a football fan or just looking for a laugh.
Cons
  • It's cash only, which can be a bit of a hassle in this digital age if you're not carrying notes.
  • Drink options are quite limited, with only traditional choices like Tennants lager available, so it might not suit everyone.
  • The decor feels a bit outdated, with nicotine stains on the ceiling and wallpaper, giving it an old-school vibe that could use a refresh.

A great St. Mirren pub and a good local Paisley pub. Cash only, but good for any neutral fans coming into take in a St Mirren game.

My local and I have to say one of the best pubs in paisley, it might not be busy all the time but it is always welcoming. Want a great laugh come on down

Traditional old man's pub. Small pub with curved bar and dart board at back. Efficient service and fresh pints but only limited traditional choices. The only lager is Tennants. The ceiling and wallpaper are still covered in nicotine stains since before the smoking ban was introduced in 2006.
