About This Pub
Ah, The Constitution – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of Pimlico, with its welcoming atmosphere and a solid reputation built on a 4.3 rating from folks who've popped in. I love how it's set up for all sorts of get-togethers, whether you're nipping in for a quiet coffee or celebrating with the family; the staff are spot on with their friendly service, and the drink selection is a real highlight, from exploratory ales to cocktails that keep things interesting. The location's a winner too, right near the tube and with outdoor seating for when the weather plays nice. On the flip side, while there are some standout dishes like that mouthwatering Steak and Ale pie, not everything on the menu hits the mark – a few have mentioned the grub being just okay, and with prices creeping up, it might not feel like the best value if you're after something extraordinary. All in all, it's a reliable choice for a pint and a chat, but keep expectations in check for the food, and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is wonderfully family-friendly and welcoming, making it a top spot for catching up with friends or enjoying a relaxed meal.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, ales, cocktails, and even low or no-alcohol options, so there's something for everyone.
-
The traditional pub grub shines in spots, like that delicious Steak and Ale pie – it's just the ticket for a hearty lunch.
-
It's in a brilliant location near Pimlico tube and Tachbrook Street Market, with outside seating perfect for a sunny afternoon.
-
Service is generally quick and friendly, adding to that cosy, community feel that's hard to beat.
Cons
-
The food can be a bit hit or miss; some dishes are just average, like a burger that didn't quite wow one visitor.
-
Prices are on the moderate side, so you might find a meal deal like fish and chips feeling a tad pricey for what you get.
-
It's got that classic old-school vibe, which is charming for some, but it might not feel as fresh or modern as other spots around London.
-
While they've got events like live music, they don't always seem to be buzzing, so it could be quiet if you're after a lively night.

Pleasant and cheap pub in pimlico. Very Old school style in a nice area of town. Upstairs and outside seating are available. Food is average with reasonable prices. Lots of different Beers and ales to choose from with good spirit selection, and decent cocktails selection. Close to pimlico and Victoria tube stations. 2 TVs for sports.

The Constitution is located in the heart of Pimlico close to Tachbrook Street Market. The nearest Tube is Pimlico, Victoria Station is also close by.
This pub was built in 1842 and is built in an Italianate style which is synonymous with the area. The pub is named after the sailing ship HMS Constitution which only saw two years sea.
This is a traditionally decorated one bar pub that unusually has windows at the front and the back of the bar. The bar area is a good size and is set out in an ‘L’ shape. The servery is located on the left hand side and has a varnished solid wood counter. Around the walls are beautiful Georgian panels with brass framed mirrors, a few historical photos and a large screen TV. The seating is a mix of traditional tables and chairs, stools along a drinking ledge and comfy green leather buttoned banquettes. For the warmer months, there are a few benches at the front.
The beer selection was a choice of mainstream favourites plus a couple of cask ales. I opted for a pint of Cruzcampo, my pint was on point, price point was reasonable at £5.50. The food menu is classic pub grub, Fish & Chips costs £12.70.
I was working in the area, so popped in for an afterwork pint. Trade was steady with a local crowd gathered in a corner. A little later, a family arrived for food plus a group of American tourists exploring the area. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed with some background music and Sky Sports News on mute. The service was great, I was served by a lovely member of the team who was welcoming and courteous.
The @constitutionpimlico is everything you would want a traditional London pub to be. The decor and setting is superb, the atmosphere had that local pub feel and the beer and food are priced favourably. This boozer gets a big tick from me, it’s well worth a visit if you’re in the area.
