About This Pub
Ah, The Chancellors – what a lovely spot it is, tucked away in West London. I've got to say, chatting about it feels like sharing a pint with mates; it's got this cosy, character-filled vibe that makes you feel right at home, complete with a fireplace and a beer garden for those sunnier days. The pizzas are a standout – they're crisp and tasty, and I heard from one review that even an Italian enthusiast was chuffed with the nduja one. The staff are top-notch too, always attentive and adding to that welcoming feel, plus it's great for dog owners or anyone wanting to catch a game on the TV. But let's be honest, it's not without its quirks; some might find the pizzas a tad oily or over-charred, and it does get packed, which can make for a bit of a wait. Oh, and if you're not local, getting there might feel like a bit of an effort. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a good night out – I'd recommend giving it a go for the atmosphere alone, as long as you go in with realistic hopes.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's cosy, full of character, and perfect for a relaxed evening with friends, especially with that little fireplace and outdoor seating in the beer garden.
-
The pizzas are a real highlight; they're super crispy and full of flavour, with the nduja one being a firm favourite that even impressed someone with high Italian standards.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to make your visit enjoyable, whether you're popping in for a pint or a bite.
-
It's dog-friendly and has a welcoming vibe, making it a great spot for those who want to bring their furry companions along.
-
There's a TV for catching the sports, and it's conveniently located near Hammersmith bridge, adding to its charm as a local gem.
Cons
-
Some pizzas can be a bit oily or charred, which might not suit everyone's taste – it's worth checking if that's how you like them.
-
It gets quite busy, especially when the pizzas are in demand, so you might have to wait for a table or deal with a lively crowd.
-
The location in West London can be a bit of a trek for folks from North or Central London, making it less accessible for some.
-
While it's got a great feel, the food isn't always mind-blowing – it's good, but not the absolute best I've tried, so expectations should be set accordingly.

What a great atmosphere at The Chancellors on a Wednesday night! I preordered 2 pizzas: nduja and picante. Being italian I had very high expectations and they were absolutely met! Our favorite was the nduja! The pizzas are very crispy, just like their name, quite oily but it didn’t upset me at all! I really loved them and would absolutely recommend trying ! The wait is quite long even if you preorder, but worth every minute! Lovely staff aswell!
Great pub with a great atmosphere. One of those wee gems one comes across now and then.
Daniel, the barman/manager, was capable, likeable, and knowledgeable.
My sister had gone to see "Godsmack" at The Apollo and being an olde git, I naturally wanted to save my weary ears from the abuse I gave them as a bass player in my band days.
I wandered up and down the Fulham Palace Road looking for a place to sit and write, with not too much noise. Couldn't find anything but horrible screen ridden pubs with too much lipstick and fake smiles 🤣
So I took to the back streets and came across The Chancellors. Small pub that kicks a punch with great music in the background.
Wrote for a couple of hours and then got drawn into conversations with some of its intriguing and interesting customers. Intelligent enough to not get upset if you have a different opinion.
Anyway, I haven't given a high food score because they don't do food on Mondays. Obviously, the chef needs a break.
I am told, however, that their pizza's are probably the best in London. I witnessed several customers coming into the pub and asking if the kitchen was open. Testament indeed.
Visit this place. It is next to the famed Riverside Studios, where I might add I have myself acted, and the Thames looking to Hammersmith Bridge.
The name says it all- Super crisp pizza. Ordered the Nduja and the Calzone and both were good pizzas. I would’ve preferred that our Nduja wasn’t so charred or is it meant to be that way? 🤔 Pls open an outlet in North/Central London as getting there is a palaver
Cosy pub with viral pizza ! This dog friendly pub is full of Character ! The pizza by Crisp Road is very popular so it does get busy. There is a beer garden and outdoor seating. The pub is not far from Hammersmith bridge. Staff are really friendly and attentive.
A super charming pub, with great pizza!
Ambiance: staff, although busy, were friendly and attentive. The pub itself is cosy and cute—with a little fireplace, plenty of seating, and a TV if you’re into sports
🍕Food: the pizza was very good, though I wouldn’t say amazing/best I’ve ever had. However, it lives up to the name with a crisp base. The marinera sauce is well done. We got the tie-dye/pesto swirl (good, but was missing something-texture? Sweetness or acidity? Feels like it was inspired by Rubirosa in New York) & the marinera (the only vegan option, but it was really good). The garlic dip is fine, nothing special & maybe a bit overpriced for what it is?
Reservations required, or they have some walk in spots available at 4 & 5 pm on some days.
