About This Pub
Ah, the Rocking Horse – what a cracking little find in the heart of Liverpool! From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, it's got this infectious energy that really lifts your spirits, especially with live music cranking out tunes every day and a lineup of bands that keep things entertaining. The drinks menu is spot on too, with plenty of options at prices that won't break the bank, and those cocktail deals are a real winner for sharing rounds with mates. Plus, it's great for sports fans with multiple screens showing all the major matches, and the staff seem genuinely chuffed to have you there, creating a clean and comfy space to relax. On the flip side, though, it does get pretty noisy at times, which could spoil the mood if you're hoping for a more subdued catch-up, and there might be the odd hiccup with service that leaves you waiting a tad longer than you'd like. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable night out – I'd say give it a go if you're up for some lively fun, but keep in mind it might not be everyone's cup of tea for a quiet pint.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially with live music playing every day – it's perfect for getting into the swing of things on a night out.
-
Drinks are reasonably priced with great deals on cocktails and shots, making it easy on the wallet for a fun evening.
-
Friendly staff who make you feel welcome, and the venue is clean and spacious with plenty of seating.
-
They've got live sports on over eight screens, so it's a brilliant spot to catch the big games like the Champions League or Premier League.
-
A solid selection of beers, spirits, and more, with specials that add to the excitement.
Cons
-
It can get incredibly loud, particularly with the live bands on weekends, which might be a bit overwhelming if you're after a quieter chat.
-
There was a hint of some service niggles in one review, though it's not clear-cut, so it might vary depending on when you visit.

Visited 2/4/25. Early evening. Good atmosphere, cheap drinks. Especially coctail jugs.
Friendly staff, nice open venue (great for the summer time). Good atmosphere, especially when they have live music. Good selection of drinks.
A great bar for people slightly older than their teenage years. Saturday afternoon has a very good live band on,but be warned,it's very loud! A good choice in beer and spirits, averagely priced.
Huge pub with lots of seating and drink choices. The singer was really good, very entertaining. The bar was clean and very friendly staff, I recommend a visit
Brilliant bar!
We found it on a previous visit last year and wanted to return again.
Afternoon entertainment through to the evening, very reasonably priced drinks with special prices until 18:00hrs midweek.
Clean and friendly establishment.
Toilets are always clean too.
The only downside is the service is sometimes a little slow - that's not a reflection on the staff, but the number of staff allocated to the bar.
One evening we were there and only one member of staff was on - she'd also been serving earlier in the day when we passed.
