About This Pub
Ah, The Carron Works in Falkirk – it's one of those classic Wetherspoon pubs that you can always rely on for a wallet-friendly pint and a decent feed, isn't it? From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the breakfasts are a real winner, with that hearty Scottish spread and loads of choices to suit all tastes; it's perfect for a pit stop on a trip, like grabbing a brekkie before heading off to the highlands. The menu's massive too, with everything from curries and steaks that come highly recommended to those tempting cocktail pitchers that go down a treat. And let's not forget the space – it's got plenty of room, so you can settle in comfortably with your group for a good natter. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a few grumbles about things like missing sauces or meals turning up lukewarm, which can really dampen the mood after a long day. Service seems to shine when it's quieter, but if it's busy, it might not be as attentive. All in all, it's a dependable choice for a casual outing, especially if you're after value for money, but it'd be wise to keep expectations in check for the little niggles that pop up now and then – still, I'd say it's worth a visit for that classic pub charm.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is generally spot on, with a cracking Scottish breakfast and plenty of options for veggies and non-veggies – it's a proper treat for a hearty meal.
-
They've got a vast menu with teas, coffees, and drinks galore, making it easy to find something for everyone, whether you're after a quick bite or a full dinner.
-
The place has loads of space, so it's great for popping in with mates for a chat and a drink without feeling cramped.
-
Service can be top-notch when it's not too busy, adding to that cosy, welcoming feel.
-
It's budget-friendly, which means you can enjoy a good meal or a cocktail pitcher without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
Sometimes items are missing from the menu, like sauces on burgers, which can leave you a bit disappointed.
-
Food might arrive cold, even if you ask for it hot, which takes the edge off an otherwise nice meal.
-
It can be hit or miss with experiences – one visit might be brilliant, but the next could fall flat, especially if they're out of stock on popular items.
-
While it's open late, the atmosphere might not always feel as lively if it's quiet, making it less exciting on off-peak times.

Never had much available off menu items. Missing sauce on burger. Normally better prefer breakfast menus wasn’t a great experience this time unfortunately
Decent place to have good food with friends and have a drink. Service is also great and satisfactory. The time we visited was not very busy. So it was quite cozy and lovely
That's the 3rd time I've been in there for a meal at the end of November & the beginning of December 2024 & my food has been served up on nearly a cold 🍽️ despite me telling the guy who took my order when I went in for their Christmas turkey 🦃 meal to serve it up on a hot 🔥 plate 🍽️ -- it made no difference as the plate was cold & so were the peas the pigs in blankets were warm the rest of the vegetables were nice & soft & the 🦃 was very tender & I left nothing on my cold plate. It's great to see many good quality condiments on display.
The prices in wetherspoons r very reasonable especially when you can have unlimited hot drinks.
