About This Pub

Ah, The Wellington Bar – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of Falkirk, isn't it? From what I've gathered, it's got this warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, especially with the jukebox pumping out tunes and a pool table for a bit of friendly competition. The bar staff can be brilliant when they're on form, and the prices won't break the bank, which is always a plus for a good night out. That said, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a few tales of service slipping up, like getting ignored at the bar or dealing with some uncalled-for rudeness, which is a shame because it can sour the experience. Plus, the toilets are in need of a bit of TLC, and if you're hoping for more than just crisps and nuts, you might end up disappointed. Overall, it's a solid choice for locals looking for a straightforward pint and a chat, but it'd be even better with a few tweaks to iron out those niggles.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is always buzzing and welcoming, making it a great spot for a proper pub experience in Falkirk.
  • They've got a fantastic jukebox and a pool table that really add to the fun – perfect for a casual night out.
  • Prices are reasonable, and it's got that authentic, no-nonsense charm with a long history that feels just right.
Cons
  • Service can be hit or miss, with some reports of staff being a bit rude or inattentive when things get busy.
  • The toilets could do with an upgrade; they're not up to scratch and might put you off.
  • It's mainly snacks on offer like crisps and nuts, so if you're after a proper meal, you might need to look elsewhere.

Brilliant pub, always a great atmosphere, brilliant bar staff. Jukebox and a pool table, absolutely spot on.

They don't do food, apart from snacks - crisps, nuts etc. A proper "pub" with a long history in Falkirk. Reasonable prices, a good jukebox, and a pool table - what more do you need? Not flash, and proud of it! Does it well.

Group of 6 females on a night out from Stirling walk in to this Bar only to be verbally abused by a male customer as soon as we walked in. Then stood at bar for over 10 minutes only to be totally ignored by 2 female bar staff. It was busy but most if not everyone sitting at bar were already seated with a drink.Obviously we decided to leave due to terrible atmosphere. When leaving one male customer said if we had been men they would have served us right away. I'd advise anyone on night out to avoid this place and cross the road to the Scotia Bar. Much more welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We stayed there the rest of the night and had a brilliant time.Wouldnt give it any rating but had to. Would be minus 5 stars

Staff were really rude when asked to replace a drink when they had made a mistake (twice!), also screaming at people when there was no need. Apart from that the atmosphere was okay, probably more a local rather than somewhere you’d pop into for a quick drink
