About This Pub
Ah, The Bulls Head in Earlswood – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper gem in the Midlands countryside. I've got to say, from what I've seen, it's got that heart-warming hospitality down pat, with staff who are genuinely polite and eager to make your visit enjoyable, much like catching up with friends over a good meal. The food stands out as a winner for most; think hearty, locally-sourced dishes that are well-presented and perfect for a lazy lunch or brunch, especially with options that nod to the seasons – it's no wonder so many are raving about it. The setting is just beautiful, right on the edge of green fields and near spots like Earlswood Lakes for a quick walk, and being dog-friendly adds a nice touch for those of us who like to bring the pup along. On the flip side, though, it's not all roses; a few have noted waits for service even when things aren't heaving, and the odd review suggests the food can be a bit middling if you're expecting something extraordinary. Still, with such a strong overall rating, I'd say it's worth a punt – just pop in with realistic expectations and you're in for a treat. All in all, it's a solid spot for a relaxed get-together, but maybe plan ahead to avoid any potential hitches.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The Bulls Head has a absolutely charming village setting, surrounded by gorgeous countryside that's perfect for a relaxing stroll before popping in for a pint.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in – it's like chatting with old mates behind the bar.

Their home-cooked food is a real highlight, with hearty dishes made from local ingredients that capture the best of the Midlands seasons; plenty of rave reviews about the quality and presentation.
-
It's dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're out for a walk and fancy a stop-off without leaving your furry friend behind.
-
With an overall rating of 4.5, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a solid pub experience, especially for lunches and brunches that hit the spot.
Cons
-
There can be waits for food even when it's not too busy, like one chap mentioned waiting 30 minutes for a starter, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a rush.
-
Some folks have found the food just average, so it might not blow your socks off every time, depending on what you're after.
-
No specific opening hours are listed, which could be a bit of a faff if you're planning a visit and want to make sure it's open.

The place is beautiful. Great setting loads of seating. The staff were all very friendly and polite. 6:30 Pm. We were seated but had to ask for menus after 10 mins as we had been given them. Ordered and had to wait 30 mins for the starter. It was not overly busy. We found the food very average. Starters, white bait, scampi, tempura prawns Really lacked any depth of flavour although the breads and cheese were OK. The black pudding scotch egg wasn't pleasant at all. Main course I had the pie and mash. Again really lacked flavour. Sides of garlic mash was so dry it couldn't be eaten and the seasonal veg wasn't nice either. One of the party had the burger which I was told was nice. Food plates left on the table for quite a while though they should have been cleared away more promptly. All in all was disappointed. Such a nice venue and setting and then served with such bland flavourless food.
Food tasted great and was well presented.
Staff were really friendly.
Only stayed for food so can't comment on the rooms.
My wife and I had Sunday dinner here with six other members of our family.
Absolutely beautiful starters, mains and desserts. The overall chef presentation of the food was fantastic and the waitress service really nice and friendly.
Only problem is that we live in Yorkshire otherwise I’d be back tomorrow.
Thank you.
Sunday 25.5.25 at The Bulls Head in Earlswood. What a fantastic experience. The new design layout of the premises inside & outside was great, something for everyone. The food was wonderful, real food. What was especially nice, was a staff member kept us informed when there was a delay with my meal, great communication, that always puts customers at ease. In fact, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. A special thank you to Kath, who had a great sense of humour & interacted with our elderly mother - what a lady. We will return.
Very friendly staff
Lovely lunch time meals, high quality and excellent portion size.
Glad to see it back open, new garden area and nice refurbishing.
Will come back again soon
