About This Pub
Ah, the Blue Bell Cider House – it's one of those spots that really grows on you, tucked away in Solihull with those lovely canal views that make you want to linger a bit longer. I have to say, the staff are an absolute delight; they're so chummy and clued up on their ciders, offering tastes before you commit, which is a nice touch for anyone exploring new flavours. The atmosphere is just spot on for catching up with mates over a reasonably priced pint, and that carvery setup on Sundays keeps everything running smoothly without any chaos. On the flip side, though, the food's a mixed bag – some reviews mentioned meals that were dry as a bone or not quite fresh, and it does feel a tad pricey at times, which might put you off if you're after a full meal. Overall, it's a solid choice for drinks and the scenery, but I'd suggest sticking to the bevvies if you're wary of the grub, to keep things enjoyable all round.

Great location, beer reasonably priced, food however very hit and miss. Ordered veggie burger, with salad and fries. Bun was dry, burger was like chewing on cardboard, no taste, dry and awful. Salad had got brown lettuce and had clearly been left on the side all day. Very poor experience and did not return. On a positive I was refunded the money for the meal. At nearly £15 there are much better options locally.
Nice pub, great atmosphere. Their selection of cider wasn't as wide as I had hoped, but they did have some good old Cheddar Valley at least. Food looked like food pub grub, but maybe a little over priced?
Brilliant pub with views of the canal, amazing food and drink. The way the carvery is done is better than other places and saves it from becoming a free for all (Efficient ensuring there is enough for everyone). You pick what two meats you want and you tell them what veg you want but you get to pour your own gravy which is how it should be done 👍
Been going for years and the staff and overall atmosphere is spot on. On a nice sunny day you’ll see some fine motors and bikes to admire whilst having a nice cold pint.
Only sad thing is that the park for the kids was removed many moons ago.
The staff were so friendly and the bar staff knew their cider. I wish they sold their glasses as they were really pretty. I appreciated the opportunity to “try before you buy” on the new to me flavours of cider. The meal and drink were a nice end to a circular walk round the lakes and back.
I came here because visiting family, prebooked our table as it's very popular on Sundays. Carvery style sunday roast where you pay just before you get your food served at the hot plate. £6.50 for under 8 year olds, £11.50 for small plate and £15.50 for large plate. Bare in mind, during the busiest times, it can get very noisy. But the service was efficient but not as friendly as expected. The quality of the food is good and great value for money. Good choice of vegetables and condiments available. Traditional pub decor, quite simple. Would recommend it.
