About This Pub

Ah, The Brunswick Hotel – it's got that timeless appeal as one of the oldest spots in Bridlington, just a hop away from the harbour, and I have to say, it's a real gem for anyone fancying a mix of pub fun and a place to rest your head. The live music, karaoke, and late bars on Fridays and Saturdays create such a cheerful buzz; imagine belting out tunes with a cracking cask ale in hand – it's just what you need for a lively night out. The staff are stars, always smiling and making sure everyone feels looked after, which really adds to the homely feel. On the flip side, though, the rooms can be a letdown; they've got the basics sorted, like tea-making kits and free Wi-Fi, but things like stuffy air, the occasional pong from the bathroom, and beds that might leave you tossing and turning could put a dampener on your stay. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after good company and drinks in a historic setting, but I'd suggest checking the room conditions first if you're planning to kip over – it's all about balancing that fun pub atmosphere with a comfortable night's sleep, isn't it?

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location is absolutely spot on, right in the heart of Bridlington and just a stone's throw from the harbour – perfect for exploring the area or popping in for a quick drink after a day out.
  • The staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, welcoming, and go the extra mile, making you feel right at home, especially with that live entertainment and karaoke on offer.
  • It's got that classic old-school pub charm with a great selection of fine cask ales and sing-along sessions – ideal if you're after a lively atmosphere and a good pint.
  • The rooms are clean and come with handy extras like tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms, plus it's accommodating for groups with options for singles, twins, and doubles.
Cons
  • Some rooms can get a bit too stuffy and hot, which makes for uncomfortable nights – it's a shame when you're trying to unwind after a fun evening.
  • There might be the odd whiff from the ensuite, and basics like shower gel are missing, so you could end up packing more than you planned.
  • The beds aren't always up to scratch, with a few folks mentioning they're so uncomfortable that sleeping on the floor seems like a better option – that's not ideal for a relaxing stay.
  • It's room-only, so no breakfast included, which means you'll have to sort out your own morning meal, and the operating hours aren't clearly listed, which could catch you out.

Brilliant central location. Room was a bit stuffy. Too hot. Smell from ensuite toilet was off putting. Too hot at night. No shower gel, just a small pod of soap.

Myself and my husband called in here for a quick drink during the week and was pleasantly surprised, we were served by kirsty who was so lovely with us and everyone who came into the hotel, she is a asset to the place and I would employ her in an instant. It happened to be bingo night with the local ladies and man lol. We had a wonderful evening with them all and we even won a game. I definitely will go back when I'm next in bridlington.

A classic old style pub, highly recommended if you’re a lover of real ale and straight forward surroundings.

Can't comment on the rooms but the lady that served us tonight( Easter Sunday)never stops. Fantastic service with a smile and very friendly.I don't know what you are paying her but it probably isn't enough. A good pint of real ale and reasonable prices. The toilets were nice and clean and the place nicely done out.

Location is great and staff are friendly, however beds are that bad we slept on the floor. We stay in Brid all the time and have been coming for 20 plus years, honestly this is the worse place we have stayed. Get a B&B and do yourself a favour!. Update: Easy to say we didn’t stay there, making out it’s not a honest review so see attached booking as proof.
