About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Brownswood – it's one of those pubs that just wraps you in a welcoming hug from the moment you walk in. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute stars, always ready with a smile and that extra bit of kindness, whether it's holding breakfast for a latecomer or sorting out a big group booking without batting an eyelid. The outdoor area sounds like a dream for summer vibes, and it's clear folks love using it for celebrations, with plenty of space inside too if the weather turns. If you're thinking of staying over, the rooms come across as spacious and well-equipped, with comfy beds and little perks that make you feel looked after. On the downside, it's a tad frustrating that the opening times aren't spelled out, so you might have to play it by ear, and without much info on the food and drink options, it could leave you guessing a bit. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a pub with a bit of heart and flexibility, though I'd say it's best for those planning something special rather than just a quick stop-off.

Cons
-

The operating hours aren't clearly listed anywhere, which can make it a bit of a faff to plan your visit and avoid any surprises.

There's not much detail on the menu or prices online, so you might end up winging it when you get there, which isn't ideal if you're on a budget.

I loved my stay at the Brownswood. The cleaning staff were especially nice. I was late for breakfast and was expecting to miss it but they were waiting me before clearing it and were so kind and welcoming. The people working at the bar and the patrons of the pub were also very friendly. I got to take part in the pub quiz that is held weekly on Wednesdays and it was a blast! The quiz master was particularly charming (and clever!) and kept us all entertained with the questions he had set for the evening. If you are in this part of London, I highly recommend Wednesday evenings at the Brownswood - Pub Quiz, Beer and Good Food - what more can one ask for!
The Brownswood pub communicated quickly about my request for a few outdoor tables for my sons bday and were flexible in agreeing a large area to be booked. I appreciated this! Great outdoor area for the summer and for hig groups.
A great place to have drinks for my birthday. They were really accommodating - even let me bring cake - and flexible with numbers. Nice outdoor and inside space.
Stayed for 4 nights in April we had a spacious room with a comfy bed and large bathroom. There was water tea and coffee and toiletries provided. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast as we prefer yoghurts/ fruit /toast /croissants and there was plenty to eat. The staff were friendly and overall it was an enjoyable experience.
We stayed for 2 nights for our wedding day. The room was spacious and wonderfully decorated. It was well heated and allowed for a lot of natural light.
Dita was so lovely and ensured we had all that we needed.
Location is good.
Would recommend! 😊
