About This Pub
Ah, The Bricklayer’s Arms – what a lovely little spot it is, tucked away in Putney and full of that authentic pub spirit we've all come to cherish. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that mixes its nearly 200-year history with some smart modern touches, making it feel fresh yet timeless. The real ales and craft beers are spot on, with plenty of well-kept options that had me coming back for another round, and the staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and ensuring everyone feels welcome, whether you're popping in solo or with a group. It's brilliant for dog lovers too, as they make space for your furry friends, adding to that community feel that's so hard to find these days. On the flip side, it's a bit of a shame about the lack of CAMRA discounts, as that could put off the more discount-savvy beer enthusiasts, but honestly, the quality on tap more than makes up for it. All in all, if you're after a proper pub experience in south west London, this one's a winner – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself; you might just find your new favourite local.

A beautiful old boozer and a mecca for well kept real ale. This place has a lot of history but has modern touches and an attractive design so it's hitting all notes for me.
No CAMRA discount, not that care too much but surprisingly. They have their own ale card through so fair play to them. Wanted to come here for years. Glad I did and I'll be back this summer!
A little back street gem of a place. Great to avoid the crowds on a busy summer day. Lovely staff
Having have to spend a couple days in London with my family I had the pleasure of spending my time in this amazing place. Our server was an Irish Lad called Eoghan and he was amazing the whole evening, made us feel welcome and loved to have the laugh with us! An exceptional bartender to say the least. The venue itself is easily accessible which helps and inside it is a well kept together pub!! Anything less than 5 stars would be a crime
I will have to be back here again with a selection of different beers, friendly staff and a collection of nice people.
Also, it's hard not to beat pubs that allow dogs in 🐕
Having lived in both Belfast and Dublin I can categorically say that although some London establishments claim they have the best pint of Guinness in London, the Bricklayers Arms absolutely does. Chris the landlord is both warm and engaging and is rightly proud of his craft. This place is a must for any fans of the Black Stuff. It is pure Black Velvet.
