About This Pub
Oh, mate, if you're into pubs, The Brewery Tap in Norwich is one of those places that'll make you want to linger for hours. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the beer selection is just brilliant – think 14 craft beers, a bunch of keg options, and proper ciders that change up regularly, so it's always exciting to pop in and see what's new. The staff are dead helpful too, chatting away about their favourites and making everything feel easygoing. The food's a highlight as well; those Motherchip loaded fries are spot on for soaking up a few pints, though it's mostly casual grub rather than anything fancy. It's great that they've got that family-friendly policy and it's dog-friendly, which means you can bring the whole crew without any fuss, and the outdoor area with heaters is perfect for when the weather's playing ball. On the flip side, their website's a bit naff right now, just a placeholder really, and the opening times look a bit muddled, so you might need to double-check before heading out. Plus, if you're after a wider menu or super-speedy service, it might not always deliver, but overall, it's a solid spot that gets heaps of love for good reason – I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone in the area looking for a proper pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely fantastic – it's like a never-ending beer festival with loads of craft beers, ciders, and perries to choose from, perfect for anyone who loves exploring new brews.
-
The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, always ready with a tip on what to try, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food hits the spot, especially those loaded chips with all sorts of delicious toppings; it's simple but spot-on for a quick bite alongside your pint.
-
It's super family and dog-friendly, with kids welcome inside until 7pm and in the beer garden until 9pm, plus plenty of space for furry friends.
-
The outdoor seating area is a winner, complete with heaters for those chillier evenings, and there's loads of room inside too for a cosy chat.
Cons
-
The website's a bit underwhelming at the moment – it's mostly just saying they're working on a new look, so you might not get much info before visiting.
-
The operating hours seem a tad inconsistent from what's listed, which could catch you out if you're planning a trip, like varying closing times on Sundays.
-
Food options are fairly limited to things like chips and burgers, so if you're after a full meal, it might not quite hit the mark every time.
-
A couple of reviews mentioned minor service hiccups, like items not being ready when expected, which could mean waits on busier days.

Really great pub with loads of beers and the food - mostly chips with delicious stuff piled on top - was really enjoyable. Kids allowed inside until 7pm and then until 9pm in the beer garden (which has outdoor heaters out the back).
Great pub with a fantastic choice of beers & ciders. Friendly staff and a nice outside seating area. Plenty of seating inside too. Dog friendly
Best place around Norwich for a pint and quick bite.
6 proper ciders, 3 perries plus 6 gassy fruit 'ciders"
14 craft beers, 19 keg beers (which strangely includes Aspalls cider).
Sausage rolls excellent (though they had not arrived by 13.40. Bread rolls, ham or cheese, adequate though not as good as when they had crusty rolls.
Excellent friendly service
Absolutely love this place. It's the best 'beer' pub in Norwich bar none. The beer selection is amazing, like a constant beer festival. The Motherchip loaded fries are great too. Got to be one of the best pubs in England
Excellent choice of beers, knowledgeable and friendly staff, all in a relaxed environment. Beer choice regularly changes and has some innovative options, with food available in the form of loaded chips and burgers.
There's plenty of outdoor seating space, with an area to the front and rear of the pub. Table service is currently offered and cards are accepted.
