About This Pub

You know, when I popped into The Botanist in Chester, I have to say it really hit the spot for a proper pub experience. It's got this warm, welcoming vibe that draws you in right away, with the staff being ever so helpful and making sure you're looked after from the get-go. The food and drinks are spot on – think amazing cocktails that are almost a show in themselves, and a menu that's packed with tempting options, especially their new summer picks. Then there's the live music and bingo nights, which add a bit of excitement and make it feel like more than just your average watering hole. Oh, and it's great that they welcome dogs, so it's perfect if you're out with the family, furry ones included. On the downside, though, the seating could be a tad more comfortable; it's not ideal for lingering over a few pints if your back starts complaining. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good time in Chester, as long as you keep expectations realistic for the odd niggle.

Pros and Cons

  • The staff are top-notch, always going above and beyond to make you feel welcome and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • The food and cocktails are a real treat; from the summer menu to the mixologists' shows, it's all delicious and full of flavour.
  • Live music on weekends and events like bingo add a fun twist, keeping things entertaining and upbeat.

Cons
  • The seating isn't as comfy as you'd hope, which might make for a less relaxing experience if you're settling in for a long chat.

Amazing cocktails, watching the mixologists was a show! Food was amazing too, great selection. Booked online really easily and had a great night. Atmosphere was very enjoyable, and live music added to the atmosphere.

I went to this venue for the first time with a very large group most of whom had pre-ordered their food. The manager James, Col, and his team gave incredible service throughout our meal. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to eat at. Thank you for making my evening very special James and your lovely staff.

Second time at the botanist , only for cocktails this time and they were all very nice even my garden mojito- which was full of cucumber which I hate. Lovely place for drinks and food - only criticism would be hardly any comfy seating
