About This Pub

Ah, The Botanic Inn – it's one of those classic Belfast spots that really knows how to pull in a crowd for a proper night out. From what I've gathered from the reviews and the vibe on their site, it's got this fantastic energy for sports fans, with screens dotted everywhere so you can catch the game without missing a beat, and the staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly. They've got all sorts of spaces too, like a buzzing nightclub with lights and lasers for when you fancy dancing the night away, or a chilled pool room for a more relaxed gathering – it's versatile, which is great for mixing things up. The drinks menu is spot on, with cocktails and deals that keep the fun going, and it's nice that you can bring in food from nearby places since they don't serve it themselves. On the flip side, though, some reviews hint that it's lost a bit of its sparkle over the years, feeling a tad less lively than in the good old days, and that 3.9 rating shows there's room for improvement, maybe in keeping the atmosphere consistently engaging or sorting out those slightly muddled opening times. All in all, if you're up for a solid pint and some entertainment with friends, it's worth a visit – just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always making you feel welcome with their warm chats and efficient service.
  • It's a fantastic spot for sports enthusiasts, with TVs everywhere showing matches in high definition, so you won't miss a moment.
  • They've got a brilliant variety of rooms and spaces, like the nightclub with its lasers and disco ball, or the pool room for a bit of friendly competition.
  • The atmosphere is lively and nostalgic, perfect for a good night out with great music and events, and it's clean throughout, which is a real plus.
  • Drinks are a highlight, with a wide selection of cocktails and deals, and you can even bring in food from nearby spots to enjoy with your pint.
Cons
  • It doesn't serve food on-site, which means you might have to pop out for a bite, though they do let you bring your own in.
  • Some folks say it's not quite as buzzing as it used to be, so if you're after that old-school vibe, it might feel a tad quieter these days.
  • The overall rating sits at 3.9, suggesting there are areas that could be polished up, like perhaps more consistent energy or updates to the space.
  • Operating hours can seem a bit confusing with all those Sunday slots, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any surprises.

It used to be a great bar back in the day staff are very friendly and helpful. No food served but they will let you bring food in which is amazing. Nice wing place 😋 👌 😍 beside the bar 🍸. Nice place for a quiet drink during the day. Nice place for everyone and also a bit of history 👍 and it displays it around the walls within the bar. If your visiting Belfast call and have a wee look 😀 😉

Used to drink here a long time ago. Popped in for nostalgia's sake and to warm up by the fire. The recommended Belfast Endeavour was a great pint. Warm, friendly bar staff. A good experience, pit stop.

5 stars as a bar to have beers and watch sports. 2 more stars than average because they have TVs literally everywhere, with good definition and different sizes. The drinks and beers offer is wide, and the play area (many options) is huge. Also you have the option to drink outside. They don’t serve food inside, and when I went, basic food service was served in the outside area.
