About This Pub
Ah, The Black Prince, what a spot it's turned out to be in Northampton! I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its wide range of drinks – think loads of ciders and beers that won't break the bank, which is always a winner when you're out with friends. The live music is an absolute highlight; they've got everything from open mic nights to full-on gigs and even screenings of big events like Glastonbury or the tennis finals. It's clear from the buzz around the place that it's a favourite for music lovers, and even if you're not into rock or metal, the atmosphere just makes it enjoyable all round. That beer garden is a proper treat too, especially on a nice day, giving you a chance to relax outdoors without the crowds feeling too much. On the flip side, it does have that slightly rough-and-ready feel in spots, like it's not the most polished venue, but honestly, that just adds to its character and makes it feel more genuine. Overall, if you're after a laid-back evening with good tunes and great value, I'd definitely recommend popping in – it's got that warm, community spirit that makes you want to come back for more.

Cons
-
It might feel a tad worn around the edges in places, like it's seen better days, but that adds to the charm for some.

If you're not into live music or certain genres like rock and metal, it could be a bit overwhelming on busy event nights.
-
The food options aren't mentioned much, so it seems more focused on drinks and music rather than a full meal out.

One of the best venues we've ever played. Great bar, too.
Great venue, if slightly down at heel - the atmosphere and live music more than made up for this.
If you like rock/metal/etc this is the pub for you. Even if you don't, still a great pub 😊
