About This Pub

Ah, The Bird Hide really is one of those lovely hidden spots in Attenborough that captures the heart of what makes a good pub great – it's all about celebrating the best of local brews with a frequently changing menu of ales, ciders, and even mead that keeps things feeling like a mini festival every week. The staff are absolute gems, always friendly and eager to share their knowledge, whether you're after a dark beer or something lighter, and it's just the ticket if you're out with the dog or looking for a comfortable place to gather with mates. They've got outdoor tables for when the sun decides to show up, and the quirky decor adds a nice touch of personality. On the flip side, it's a compact little venue, so it can get a tad packed during peak times, and with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays, it might not be ideal for spontaneous mid-week visits. Still, with its high marks from regulars and that community spirit, it's well worth seeking out for a proper, honest pint – just pop in and see what takes your fancy!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of local ales and ciders that change regularly, making every visit feel fresh and exciting
  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always up for a chat and happy to recommend drinks
  • Dog-friendly vibe, perfect for popping in after a walk in the nearby nature reserve
  • Cozy, welcoming atmosphere with quirky decor and plenty of seating inside and out when the weather's nice
  • Strong community focus, supporting local brewers and offering a relaxed spot to unwind with friends
Cons
  • It's a small space, so it can get a bit crowded and feel snug on busier nights
  • Limited opening hours, with the pub closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which might not suit mid-week plans
  • More geared towards real ale than craft beer, so it might not hit the spot if you're after something more modern

It's a superb little place, busy and fun. It seems not only beer but cider, mead and lots of other drinks on the menu. It's dog friendly too. I'm going back for sure!

Good selection of beers and knowledgable staff. There is always a dark beer available. A server called Freya was very good

The Bird Hide is a micro pub...so it is small (obvs). It uses the space well and has seating outside even if there is a glimmer of sunshine. The beer is good but more on the real ale end rather that craft. Dog friendly and a well frequented local by many. Well worth a visit (or 10).

Lovely little micropub with a few kegs on tap and cask too! Well kept beer as far as I can tell. Nice local atmosphere and decor, I like that they have lots of traditional ales along with the usual craft stuff. It's all table service and the staff are friendly, for what it is the beer is also very well priced. Menu is now via a qr code. Pleased to call it my local.

What a great find. Good beer and cider. A quirky selection of memorabilia, the pump badges are displayed in brewery order. Plenty of seating for a small place. A great place to relax and unwind.
