The Beer Drop in Gateshead

Ah, The Beer Drop – what a gem of a micropub tucked away in Low Fell, Gateshead. I've got to say, it's one of those places that just makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, with its focus on fantastic brews from the likes of Wylam and Almasty, and a real emphasis on creating a space for everyone, whether you're into craft ales or just after a good chat. The staff are absolute stars, always chatting away and making sure you're served up the best drinks without any faff, and it's brilliant that they welcome dogs too – I mean, who doesn't love a pub where your four-legged friend can join the fun? The atmosphere is spot on, with comfy seating and that new micro cinema adding a nice surprise element for a different night out. On the flip side, though, it's a shame it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, as that limits your options if you're mid-week for a quick bevvy, and it can get a bit cosy when the crowds roll in, so you might want to time your visit right. All in all, it's a solid spot for us pub goers looking for quality over quantity, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area – just keep an eye on those opening hours to avoid disappointment!
