About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about The Bay Horse Inn – it's one of those pubs that just makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, the food is a real highlight; whether it's the generous portions of gammon and egg or those flame-grilled burgers, everything seems to hit the spot without breaking the bank. The staff? Well, they're the stars of the show – think cheerful servers like Katie or Clayton who bring a smile and make your meal feel special. It's got that relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for a casual catch-up or enjoying the beer garden on a nice day. On the flip side, it's a bit of a shame they're closed for renovations right now, so you'll need to wait for the grand reopen to experience it all. And, like any popular local spot, it might get lively on weekends, which could be brilliant if you fancy a bit of buzz, but perhaps not ideal if you're after something super quiet. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in Cramlington looking for good grub, great company, and that genuine pub charm – I'd say it's worth keeping an eye out for when they swing their doors open again.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think juicy gammon with perfectly cooked fries or those famous sizzling skillets that make for a proper treat.
-
The staff are an absolute delight; they're warm, welcoming, and go the extra mile to make your visit feel personal, like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
-
It's got a cracking atmosphere, especially in the beer garden on a sunny day, perfect for unwinding with friends or family.
-
Great value for your money with deals like the 2 for £12 menu, and they're really involved in the local community, which adds a nice touch to the place.
Cons
-
It's currently closed for a makeover until they reopen, so you'll have to hold off on popping in for a bit.
-
As with many pubs, it can get a tad busy at peak times, which might mean a short wait for service or a table.

Great time at the Bay horse the other night!! Excellent drinks and gorgeous food served by Katie. Nice to see a happy face behind the bar and service with a smile. Will be back again !
Amazing experience! The food was great but to top it off was Katie. She made our experience so special and personable by being kind, cheery and on the ball with her service!
Super food from the 2 for £12 menu.
Chose the gammon and egg with skin on fries. Plentiful portion and the best fries ever tasted. The gammon was perfectly cooked by chefs Ryan and Callum.
The staff were warm and welcoming and brought us everything we needed.
Would definitely visit again when up this way. Thank you Bay horse for a lovely start to our mini break.
Good vibe, food was great. Beer garden was nice in the warm weather. Overall clean and I'd reccomend it to anyone. Plus free car park that's got plenty of space
What a lovely pub. We booked our table for a Friday date night, the atmosphere was great, nice and relaxed. The staff are all very friendly. Clayton took our orders and served our drinks, he was well mannered and very helpful. A big thank you to Martin the Chef. Our meal arrived in a good time and was delicious. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly, rare, as I requested. My partner had a burger which was enormous, he thoroughly enjoyed it. The meal portions were more than enough. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will be back soon
