About This Pub
You know, when I popped into The Bartons Arms, I was really taken by its warm, old-school charm – it's got that classic pub feel with a historic building that's just lovely to be in. The food stands out as a real highlight; it's tasty and comes in generous portions, whether you're going for the mains or something like afternoon tea, and the service is spot on with staff who go out of their way to make your visit memorable. It's especially brilliant for events or on match days, where the atmosphere can really come alive with all that character and nostalgia. But, on the downside, I've heard a few folks mention that the variety in certain dishes, like Thai options, isn't as broad as it used to be, and the real ale choices were a bit disappointing on one go-round. Plus, it can get a tad chilly inside sometimes, and if it's not buzzing, the whole place might feel a smidge flat. All in all, it's a solid spot for a good night out in Birmingham, but it's worth keeping those little quirks in mind to set your expectations right.

Thai food offering reduced in variety from previously (before temporary closure) but still tasty.
No Oakham ales when we visited, the only real ale was a slightly lacklustre Purity Mad Goose.
Very friendly welcome and excellent service when we ate.
Not at all busy hence 2 stars for atmosphere.
Overall, disappointing beer selection in a very quiet pub but tasty enough food.
What a beautiful old skill pub! The food was amazing and the service even better! Thanks to all the staff for making our visit memorable. Especially Pink, Joy and the bar tender. Will defo visit again on my next trip back from Aus.
Food was fantastic, served piping hot, service was great, the staff were very friendly. Only issue was it was freezing in the restaurant, it did get a bit warmer when the footy fans arrived to fill the place up.
Will definatly go again.
Lovely warm welcome into an absolutely beautiful historical building. We came for an afternoon tea, portions were very generous with plans in place to expand the offer and make more of it in house in the future. The fire was alight and cosy. The table next to us was eating the main food on offer which also looked delicious and they also asked for takeaway boxes because of the generous portion sizes. Lisa was so welcoming and friendly and let us have a look upstairs at the amazing original tiles and stained glass window, events space and room where Laurel and Hardy stayed. The playlist was also great. So much history in a pub like this - so good to see it back open!
I hosted an event here with a great reception from staff and clients alike. Great atmosphere, character and nostalgia.
Also a great spot for match days. #UTV
