About This Pub

Ah, The Arches Bar & Restaurant – what a lovely find in Nuneaton! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's one of those places that really hits the mark for a proper night out. The food stands out as a real winner; think juicy, perfectly cooked meats from an award-winning butcher, paired with a blend of classic English fare and some tasty Indian twists that add a bit of excitement to the menu. It's not just about the eats, though – the cocktails are crafted with care, and at prices that make you feel like you've got a bargain, especially with those £5 lunch deals that folks rave about. The staff are an absolute delight, always friendly and ready to sort things out, whether it's accommodating changes or dealing with a spill without any fuss. It's clear from the feedback that people leave feeling chuffed, with that 4.3 rating speaking volumes about the good times had. On the other hand, it's not all smooth sailing; the place can get packed, leading to waits for service or a drink at the bar, which might put a dampener on things if you're hoping for a more laid-back vibe. Still, if you're up for a lively atmosphere and don't mind the occasional queue, I'd say it's well worth a visit – perhaps book ahead for a special do or pop in for a casual meal. All in all, it's a balanced spot that delivers on the fun, with just a few niggles that come with popularity.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch, with award-winning meats from Frank Parker's Butchers and a fantastic mix of English and Indian dishes that leave you wanting more.
  • Service is warm and spot-on; the staff go out of their way to be helpful, even with last-minute changes or little mishaps like a spilled drink.
  • It's great value for money, especially with deals like the £5 lunch option – perfect for a casual Friday get-together without breaking the bank.
  • The atmosphere is inviting and well-kept, with a clean, modern vibe that makes it ideal for evenings out or special occasions like Mother's Day.
Cons
  • It can get really busy, which means you might end up waiting a while for drinks or service, as one friend mentioned with their coffee order.
  • While the cocktails and menu are brilliant, the place might feel a bit packed during peak times, so it's not always the most relaxed spot if you're after a quiet pint.

Absolutely excellent food and service for our Mother's Day celebration. Despite last minute changes that we made on arrival, and spilled drink (our fault), the staff were friendly and amazingly helpful. Food was perfectly cooked and very well presented.

Me and my partner came in today as we often do on a Friday for the £5 lunch deal. We're a fan of the gammon chips peas and salad and fried egg on side for £1.50. Food was absolutely great. And for the price it's a no brainer. Welcomed by Carlene and what a star she is. The. Served pure food by Aj who you can tell has passion for the hospitality industry. We love the log fire most of all haha. We will for sure be coming back. Great service great company and atmosphere.

17 of us went last night. Lovely place and it was packed. Service was very good but had to wait quite a while for my coffee at the bar. But like I said it was really busy. Judging by the empty plates on the table the food was really nice. We had 3 courses. The pate was absolutely divine. My roast beef wasn't cooked enough for me and cold. And the potatoes were cold too. The veg wasn't my choice either. I then had Christmas pudding. But wasn't to my taste. The meal was well presented and looked nice but it wasn't for me. I might try it again and have something different.

Absolutely beautiful setting, literally the cleanest, newest looking building I've seen, that's not actually brand new! 3 year old. Looks spotlessly clean, brand new. Hugely impressive to maintain!!! Massive appreciation for that. Service, polite, friendly, helpful. Cocktails and drinks are exceptional, made to order, made brilliantly! The food, Indian and British, we chose starter from Indian and English mains. We where not disappointed! The starters, phenomenal! Seriously 9.9 put of 10! Wow!!!! Mains, stunning visually, massive portions. We really enjoyed our mains. Just loom at them! Dessert, WOW! We met the chef, he wad so attentive, came out to check on us, talk to us, make sure we where happy and he was amazing! Dessert was a work of art. We can not wait to come visit again. Thank you Chef!
