About This Pub
Ah, Ego at The Cedar Tree – it's one of those places in Nuneaton that you hear about from mates and think, 'Right, let's give it a go.' From what I've gathered from the buzz around, it's got this lovely modern feel to it, not too stuffy, just right for catching up over a meal. The staff really shine through in the reviews; they're described as welcoming and ever so patient, especially when you're rolling in with a big group like for a hen do or a work catch-up. Most folks rave about the food being spot on, with plenty of options and some cracking deals that make it feel like good value. It's that kind of place where you can book ahead and know things will flow nicely. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – there are tales of meals that didn't quite hit the mark, like meat that's a tad dry or veg that's gone limp, which can sour the experience. One reviewer even had a mix-up with their order, turning a vegetarian dish into a surprise for someone who wasn't expecting it. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.3, it's clear the good days far outnumber the bad. If you're heading out for a casual night, I'd say it's worth a punt, just keep in mind it might not be the spot for a flawless family meal every time. All in all, it's a solid choice for a Mediterranean bite in Nuneaton, as long as you're up for the occasional quirk.

Lovely restaurant and very welcoming staff.
We had a group of 14 ladies for a hen meal and not a single meal or drink had any criticisms.
The restaurant itself is modern and well laid out without it being crowded, staff were happy to help and very patient. We highly recommend for any size groups
Waited for food paid £21 for a trio of meat, well let’s just say the meat was dry, the Yorkie was greasy the roast potato’s you needed a hammer to get through, the veg was limp… Then asked if my under 12 child can have a steak knife? Absolutely disappointed in this whole experience. Not a place I would consider taking your children, not even colouring pens or anything whilst children wait for the food. However the children did like the dessert. Looked presentable so the meal itself was disappointment but dessert went down lovely
Fabulous night at Ego as always catching up with a dear friend. Special thanks to our waitress Lauren who smashed it! She was great, friendly and knowledgeable and made our night! Thank you. We will definitely be back and highly recommend 😊👍
Have been here previously with family and visited most recently with a friend - food was lovely, couldn't fault it!
They had deals for a Monday which we didn't go for, but there were plenty of options available if we had chosen to go with the Monday menu.
Staff were lovely and welcoming, a little bit slow on taking our food order but it was a busier time and so to be expected.
We weren't offered a jug of water despite there being glasses for water on the table, I did ask for a small glass of water after food and before heading home, and was instead presented with the bill - so asked again and received, although not a major issue, just a little something that would have added some more value to the service!
Overall, it was a nice evening and venue for a catch up with a friend and good food, and I would recommend!
We spent here an evening with some work colleagues and had a really wonderful night. As we had ordered the courses upfront everything was sorted out and we could enjoy the meals and ourselves. There was only one issue with one ordered lamb Dinner which turned out to be a vegetarian meal instead and even after he returned it, my colleague again received a vegetarian version of it...
The food was very good and the portions had exactly the right size for us - nobody was hungry anymore nor "overfilled". As we sat in front of the partly open kitchen we could also enjoy the action going on in there.
Happy to go there again when I am around the area next time.
One last Advice: Do not miss out on the Crumble - it was so delicious! 😋
