Ah, The Apollo – it's one of those hidden gems in Bridlington that you stumble upon and end up loving. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; think fresh, tasty options like seafood platters and Yorkshire roasts that hit the spot, with a good mix for vegetarians and those after something lighter. The staff are spot on too, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which adds to that cosy, relaxed vibe. It's not overly packed, so you can actually enjoy your meal without feeling squished in, and it's great that they welcome dogs – perfect for a casual day out. On the flip side, if you're heading there at busy times, you might have to wait a bit for your order, and it's easy to walk right past the place if you're not paying attention. Plus, without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the lowdown beforehand. All in all, with a solid 4.3 rating from heaps of happy visitors, I'd say it's well worth a visit for a proper pub experience – just go with an open mind and maybe plan ahead a touch.

Cons
-

There can be a bit of a wait for your food during peak times, like lunch rushes, which might put a dampener on things if you're in a hurry.

The pub's a tad hard to spot if you're just wandering by, so you might miss it at first glance.

We came across this nice independent gastro style eatery whilst visiting on holiday. The menu was vast and offered options from small lunch bites to larger meals, with plenty of vegetarian options too. We sat at peak lunch time, and were advised at the point of ordering that there was a 30 minute wait on food, which is not uncommon at these busy periods. True to their word, the food arrived pipping hot around 25 minutes after ordering, and the meals were exceptional. The portion sizes were very generous and the quality of the food was very good. The atmosphere was nice and was to be popular with what seemed to be locals enjoying a lunchtime beverage. We complimented the staff on exit and they seemed grateful.
Absolutely amazing staff food is stunning highly recommended giving it a try
Really good. I was expecting a slightly nicer version of Spoons, but actually it's much better than that. The food was tasty and fresh - we enjoyed our seafood platter and the chips were great too.
Popped in for 1st time, very pleasantly surprised, upscaled Wethies definitely😃.
Food was fab😋, Yorkshire roast was lovely and separate cauliflower cheese huge and very tasty. Creamy garlic mushrooms best I've had in years...food devoured. Nice atmosphere, tables not rammed in and well behaved doggos welcomed. Service great, very friendly staff. Lovely Sunday afternoon in here, may even make this our local😁. x
We were in town for a child free weekend (imagine the peace!) and we're feeling hungry whilst having a wander on a Saturday morning.
The Apollo is almost hidden in plane view, we almost walked past it. We stopped and looked at the menu options and decided to try it out!
The service was fantastic and friendly and all the staff had a smile on their face.
We ordered soon food and drinks, the food came really quick (Mrs had fish and chips and I had a pork dish. They came quick (the menu is massive btw) and were beautifully cooked!
Well worth the visit, we will be back with the whole family on future!
