About This Pub

Ah, The New Inn in Bridlington – it's one of those classic pubs that really pulls you in with its welcoming vibe and great value for money. I have to say, the drinks deals are spot on; you're getting pints for a song, which makes it perfect for a casual catch-up with mates without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is buzzing, especially during live sports – they've got everything from football to Formula 1 on the screens, and it's just the ticket if you're into that. Plus, the karaoke nights are a riot, with some brilliant 80s tunes that get everyone up and dancing, and that beer garden is a gem for soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand. On the flip side, though, service can be a mixed bag; I've heard tales of staff being a tad abrupt, like with families trying to pop in, which might leave you feeling a bit put out. And it's a pity about the odd mishap with events, such as cutting short a big race for something else, or the regulars hogging the karaoke mic – it can make things feel a touch unfair. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint and some entertainment, but it'd be even better with a bit more consistency to keep everyone smiling.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are an absolute bargain – pints for around £3.20, which is brilliant for keeping things affordable on a night out.
  • It's got a cracking atmosphere with live sports on the telly, including football, rugby, and even horse racing, making it a top spot for catching the big games.
  • Karaoke nights are a real highlight, with some fab 80s music and dancing that gets everyone involved and having a laugh.
  • Friendly staff on their good days, and they've got a nice selection of beers, ciders, and special offers to choose from.
  • The beer garden is a lovely touch for when you fancy a bit of fresh air with your pint, especially on a sunny day in Bridlington.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit inconsistent; some folks have had rude encounters, like being snapped at over whether kids are allowed, which might make you feel unwelcome.
  • They've had issues with event management, such as switching off live sports like F1 midway through for something else, which is a real shame if you're there for the race.
  • Karaoke can get dominated by the regulars, with some getting multiple turns while others wait ages, so it might not feel fair for newcomers.
  • There are mixed feelings about the family policy; it's not always clear, and that could put off those popping in with little ones.

Advertised showing the F1, had it on for 10 mins along with karaoke so no sound the five mins in to the race turned it over to horse racing on all TVs

This looked like a promising pub however we came in with children and the lady behind the bar said rather rudely children we'rent allowed in, we asked if that was all day, she snapped "ever", as we left we noticed there was a child around the corner?? We were made to feel unwelcome by her dismissive attitude and like an inconvenience to her. We went across the road and they couldn't have been nicer.

Great atmosphere and the prices are really good! Cost us £3.20 for a pint what a bargain. Was a great karaoke on (also fab 80s music in between and dancing). However, I did find the locals did get on quite a lot. I got on twice, but some got on loads, sometimes again and again, without even having to wait, which did seem a bit unfair. Apart from that, we had a really good night (this was a Thursday).
