About This Pub
So, if you're looking for a cosy spot in Nuneaton for a pint and a chat, The Anker Inn is definitely worth considering – it's got that warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to settle in. I love how the staff are so approachable and the live bands really liven up the place on weekends; it's perfect for a relaxed evening out. Plus, from what I've gathered, their Sunday roasts are an absolute treat, with folks raving about the flavours and portions. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – some have mentioned the beer not being up to scratch, which is a shame when you're paying over £4 a pint, and there've been a few grumbles about food like dry mash or confusing service mix-ups. Still, with the new management stepping up and making improvements, it feels like they're heading in the right direction. All in all, it's a solid choice for a get-together, just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a good time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The service is really welcoming and makes you feel right at home, with staff going out of their way to be friendly.
-
There's a lively atmosphere and great entertainment, like live bands on weekends, which adds to the fun.
-
The food can be spot on, especially the Sunday roasts – I've heard they're absolutely delicious and great value.
-
New management seems to be making positive changes, putting in the effort to improve things overall.
Cons
-
Beer quality isn't always reliable; some pints, like the Theakstones mild, have been past their best and not worth the price.
-
Food can have its off moments, such as dry mash that doesn't quite hit the mark.
-
There are occasional service slip-ups, like being told something's out when it's right there on the shelf, which is a bit frustrating.

Nice pub, but the beer needs to improve to gain a 4th star. The Theakstones mild was well past its vestl condition, and at over £4 per pint, I expect a decent drink.
New management
No food yet but great entertainment and atmosphere
Service great very welcoming
Myself and my friend went on Monday. We both had pies. My friend had mash with his. He complained that the mash was very dry one of the girls said they would let the chef know.
He then asked for a Jason and coke to which he was told there wasn’t any left but could clearly see a bottle on the shelf behind the bar. When we asked about it we was told it was empty….
As we were leaving my friend said he paid £14.95 for a pie and packet mash
One of the girls turn around and said “it is smash and!”
Like it wasn’t an issue.
The service was pretty rude this time too. We used to go all the time but haven’t been for a while due to Christmas and birthdays.
Regret the whole hour we spent there! Will no be returning!
Such a shame because the management is amazing and very polite cannot do enough usually but seems to go down hill when they aren’t in.
Called in for a quick drink and the food smelt sooo good we had our Sunday roast there. Absolutely the best roast beef dinner we have had. Fantastic meal. I will not cook Sunday roast at home again. At that price I would mad...
Under newish management who seem to be making a real effort. Beers well looked after and carefully served, good live bands most weekends. Haven't tried the food but if the attitude of the management prevails it will be good. Recommended
