About This Pub
Ah, The Alyn at Rossett – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away in a lovely spot in Wrexham. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with that genuine warmth from the staff, who really go the extra mile to make sure everything's just right, whether it's showing you to your table or sorting out your drinks. The food's a winner too; I've heard from folks that the Sunday roasts are spot on, with generous portions and tasty options even for vegetarians, and it's brilliant that they welcome dogs and families alike for a relaxed day out in the beer garden. But let's be honest, it's not perfect – one mate mentioned their fish and chips came out a bit overcooked, which is a shame when the rest is so good. Overall, with a solid 4.2 rating from plenty of visitors, it's a place I'd recommend for a laid-back pint or a meal with friends, just keep in mind it might have its off days like any spot worth its salt. If you're in the area, give it a go; you might just find your new favourite haunt.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always polite, helpful, and full of that warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home.
-
The food is a real highlight; think hearty portions of tasty classics like grills, burgers, and Sunday roasts that come out piping hot and full of flavour.
-
It's super family-friendly and dog-friendly too, with a lovely beer garden perfect for lazy afternoons soaking up the sun with your loved ones and furry friends.
-
They've got a great selection of drinks, including expertly crafted cask ales and world lagers, plus facilities like free WiFi and accessible parking make it easy to pop in.
-
The atmosphere is spot on – a cosy spot with a fireplace and plenty of space, ideal for catching up with mates or enjoying a relaxed meal.
Cons
-
There can be the odd kitchen mishap, like overcooked dishes, which might leave you a bit disappointed if you're after something perfectly done every time.
-
With an overall rating of 4.2, it's clear not every visit is flawless, so you might encounter busier days where service feels a tad slower or things aren't quite as spot-on.
-
The menu's got loads of choices, but if you're after something a bit more adventurous, it sticks mostly to pub favourites without many surprises.

We were greeted by a member of staff, who was so polite and helpful and showed us to the table. The young waitress who took our food order had a cheery disposition, and when she brought the food it was hot!!! Which we haven’t found in other places. You have an excellent chef and kitchen staff, because there was hardly any waiting time between bringing each meal out….there was 9 of us. And what can I say about Sue, except she is an amazing hostess and a wonderful person x
We had a warm welcome when we arrived and was quickly shown to our table. The lady took our drink order and these were spot on and brought to us. The food menu was lovely and something for ever taste. Our starters came and my soup was delicious and very tasty and my wife's pate was also very nice. We followed with great main courses of cheese burger for me and chicken for my wife, both came with skin on fries and these were demolished and were also lovely. My wife had dessert, which was very good too. Overall we was more than happy with what we had and very good prices too. Highly recommend if your in the area and they also have a great beer garden by the river.

We were thrilled with our lunch.
The menus were excellent with a wide choice.
We opted for the Lunch menu and had 2 courses.
The starters were excellent.
The main courses were tasty, plentiful and hot.
A very pleasant experience.
Staff were courteous and helpful.
The pub / restaurant is in a lovely location and the decor is gorgeous. Staff were were friendly, professional and helpful.
We ate on easter Sunday. My husbands trio roast was lovely. As a pescatarian I had fish and chips. Unfortunately the fish was over cooked with the battr visibly burnt in places. This made the fish dry.
Would happily try again though.
Really enjoyed our afternoon at The Alyn.
Great location and lovely atmosphere.
Great sized portions on the Sunday lunches and puddings. Was great that even the vegetarians had a choice of options of what to have with their Sunday roast. Beef was lovely and tender, and the veg was well cooked. Plenty of extra gravy was put on the table, which was a bonus! Food was good value for money.
Really friendly staff - I will definitely be back in the summer months to have a drink next to the river!
