About This Pub
Ah, Iâl Restaurant on Chester Road – what a lovely little find it is! From what I've gathered chatting about it with others, it's got this warm, welcoming vibe that's just right for a relaxed Sunday lunch or a family get-together. The food steals the show, with rave reviews for dishes like vegetable soup, chicken fricassee, and even a cracking lobster special – everything's cooked to perfection and full of flavour. And the service? Brilliant; the team there are so attentive and cheerful, even going the extra mile for things like dietary preferences, which makes you feel right at home. It's nicely spaced out too, so you can enjoy your meal without the hustle and bustle overwhelming you. On the flip side, a few mates mentioned that the portions don't quite match the price tag, leaving them a bit peckish afterwards – it's a shame, as it could easily bump it up to perfection. Still, with such high ratings and positive vibes overall, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area, just maybe plan for a snack if you're extra hungry. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, balancing those highs and a minor niggle or two.

Overall very happy, lovely tasting meal. Only issue was the portion size was a bit on the small side for the price. If the portion size had been bigger, it would have been 5 stars.
Great meal of Vegetable soup, followed by Chicken Fricassee. Great service, quiet and comfortable!
Lovely Sunday lunch served here. Part of the college so unsure what it's like during term time but of a Sunday it's really nice, quite full but we'll spaced so didn't feel too busy. Food couldn't be faulted
Loved this place on our first visit. The students were very attentive and maintained high standards and a sense of humour despite the stress of my lactose intolerance! We will be back 👍
We went for a family meal, the service as always was excellent and the quality of the food was yet again outstanding. This time we had a couple of “Bar Snacks” first before our starter and main. I had the special which was lobster absolutely delicious, my mother had pork again cooked very well and lovely presentation, and my brother had the slow cooked brisket all served with delicious accomplishments first class.
