About This Pub
You know, I popped into the Thatched House the other day and it really hit the spot for a relaxed evening out; it's got that warm, inviting vibe with its old-world charm and a fire crackling away, making it ideal for catching up with mates over a pint. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with helpful advice on their wide range of drinks or what's cooking in the kitchen, and the food generally shines through with scrumptious roasts and puddings that had me going back for more. Plus, the beer garden is a treat if you're after some fresh air. But, fair play, it's not all roses – I heard from a friend that the lamb dish didn't quite live up to the hype, coming across as more processed than promised, and the veg sides were a tad underwhelming. Still, with such a solid overall rating and plenty of positive vibes from folks who've enjoyed their time there, I'd say it's worth a visit for a bite and a bevvy, just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The cosy atmosphere with a roaring fire and old-world charm makes it feel like a proper traditional pub – perfect for settling in with a good book or a chat.
-
Friendly and knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond, offering spot-on recommendations for drinks and food that really enhance the experience.
-
The food is generally a winner, with tasty options like juicy steaks, delicious desserts, and hearty Sunday roasts that leave you satisfied.
-
A cracking selection of drinks, from an array of gins and malt whiskies to classic pints of stout or lager – something for every taste.
-
The beer garden is a lovely spot for enjoying a drink outdoors, especially on a sunny day near Ravenscourt Park.
Cons
-
Some menu descriptions can be a bit misleading, like the lamb turning out as pre-packaged slices rather than fresh off the bone, which might disappoint.
-
Vegetable servings can fall short in quality or quantity, as one person noted it wasn't up to scratch with the rest of the meal.
-
It's not always perfect for everyone, with a couple of experiences feeling just okay rather than outstanding, so it pays to manage expectations.

Easy to find. Parking ok, and great for a Sunday.
Disappointed by vegetable serving and lamb leg was in fact lamb slices (look like out of a packer and not fresh off the bone) so slightly deceptive in menu choices HOWEVER was tasty - I ate all!! Dessert was nice also. Would go back, but not as a first choice option.
Walking into a nice cosy pub, fire crakling away in the corner, mix of tables and chairs, stools, and benches, with some comfortable couches by the fire.
Walking up to the bar, you are greeted by helpful, warm, and friendly staff.
I got the roast lamb for the protein on my Sunday roast, and it was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly and with great flavour. The portion was just right for me, and it was a reasonable price for the quality and portion size.
Definitely earned a place in my top 5 pubs in West London for a Sunday roast.
Look forward to going back to try the rest of the menu.
Eva made the evening. She was knowledge on all the available drinks and food, effortlessly reeled off lists, made great recommendations! She is a keeper in there for sure.
Ambience is lovely and we will come back with more people to relax and enjoy a few drinks. First visit and we were impressed. People who
live close to this pub are lucky !
We had:
Nachos - lovely !
Slow cooked beef - wonderful !
Snitzel - my partner is Romanian and they know their way around this dish and he was very happy. Crispy, moist and delicious !
Mussels - perfect and they’re hard to get right !
A wonderful experiences. A big thank you to Chris for going above and beyond. We had a feast on the starters. The steak was juicy. We had Sticky Toffee pudding …. And it was delicious. So happy we went there today and will be going back to try a Sunday Roast
Made a reservation here through The Fork just so we could try the place out and was so glad we did because the food was fantastic and service, stellar. We've walked past this pub so many times and never thought to go in.
We ordered whitebait for our starters. For our main we had chicken schnitzel which was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside that came with a delicious helping of mixed vegetables and chips. My friend's Caesar Salad had actual anchovies in it--yum--and grilled chicken.
