About This Pub

Ah, Tattersalls Tavern – it's one of those pubs that really captures the heart of what makes a good London spot so special. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is a real winner; folks rave about the fish and chips being perfectly crispy and juicy, and the steak pie sounds like a proper treat, though it's not always spot-on with the fillings. The atmosphere is just brilliant – imagine sinking into that old English pub charm with friendly faces behind the bar and plenty of space to enjoy a pint or watch the big games on the telly. It's dead handy being so close to Knightsbridge tube and all the shopping, and it's great that they welcome dogs and families, making it versatile for different outings. On the flip side, you might find yourself waiting a bit for your meal, so plan ahead if you're peckish, and keep in mind that some dishes can vary in quality, which is a shame when you're hoping for consistency. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening or a match day gathering – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives definitely outweigh the niggles for a good night out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think crispy fish and chips or a hearty steak and ale pie that hits the spot every time.
  • It's got that classic old English pub atmosphere, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home.
  • Perfect for catching live sports on the big screens, whether it's football, rugby, or the Women's Euros – and they've got Sky and TNT Sports to boot.
  • Super convenient location, just a stone's throw from Knightsbridge tube and near great shopping like Harrods, plus it's dog-friendly and welcoming for families.
  • They've got a solid selection of beers and a cosy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a good chat or a quick pint.
Cons
  • Food can take a while to arrive, so if you're starving, it's best not to pop in too late in the day.
  • Some dishes, like the steak and ale pie, might have inconsistent quality – you could end up with more fat than beef, which is a bit disappointing.
  • It might feel a tad off the beaten path, even in busy Knightsbridge, so it could take a moment to find your way there.

Fish & Chips were so good, crispy juicy fish. Food took a while to come though so don’t go too late if you’re hungry! The Steak & Ale Pie tastes like what it sounds like. The pie filling could use better QC as the amount of beef vs fat can be really unbalanced.

Great food and atmosphere. The steak and ale pie was fantastic and the fish and chips were delicious. We got some nachos and it was also surprisingly good. I enjoyed the old English pub vibes they had and the staff were friendly as well. Would come here again. It is a little off the grid… or on the side of the main roads so you might have to look for it, but it was worth it.

We stumbled across this tavern on our first day in London. The barman was helpful when I ordered my first ever pint and recommended a "nice" beer, historically I don't like beer but his suggestion was awesome and I will now drink beer again. The atmosphere was awesome. The food was amazing. Definately stop here. The food took 30 mins but was worth the wait.

This is a good little pub in Knightsbridge with an adequate number of indoor tables and some space outside as well. Popped in for a quick lunch recently and was served a pretty good order of fish and chips. Fillet was nicely fried and tasted just fine, chips and peas as expected. Pint served was good as well. No complaints, just a good all around pub for a brief lunch stop or round of drinks. Would gladly return.
