About This Pub

Ah, Tap & Tandoor – what a gem of a spot for us pub enthusiasts! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with this warm, inviting vibe that's just perfect for kicking back with friends over a pint or a curry. The food's a real highlight; their mixed grills and curries are packed with flavour and come out just right, paired with an impressive range of craft beers and cocktails that keep things exciting. The staff are genuinely lovely, always checking in to make sure you're sorted without being over the top, which makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. It's especially great for watching the big games on their screens, or joining in on quiz nights and Sunday lunches for that extra bit of fun. On the flip side, it's probably best to book ahead because if you rock up unannounced, you might find it a bit chaotic, and I've heard a few whispers that it might not suit everyone straight away if you're after something more traditional. All in all, though, it's a place I'd happily recommend – it's got that balance of good grub, solid drinks, and a relaxed crowd that makes for a memorable night out, so give it a go and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think mouthwatering mixed grills, homestyle curries, and a cracking selection of craft beers and cocktails that really hit the spot.
  • Staff are top-notch; they're attentive, friendly, and make you feel right at home, just like chatting with mates behind the bar.
  • It's a brilliant spot for catching live sports with big screens, perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening with friends.
  • They've got a lively vibe with things like quiz nights and Sunday lunches, making it easy to pop in for a good time any day of the week.
  • With multiple locations and options for delivery or collection, it's super convenient for a quick bite or a full night out.
Cons
  • It can be a bit tricky if you turn up without booking, as they might seem a tad hesitant if it's busy, so it's worth planning ahead to avoid any awkward moments.
  • Some folks have mentioned initial worries based on hearsay, like it not quite living up to expectations for certain tastes, though from what I've seen, it generally delivers.

Had the mixed grill, perfect. No meats were harmed, overcooked or dry in the production of this mixed grill. Accompanied with a nice hot curry sauce. Beers top notch too! Ash was a great host!

Been here about 6 times. The manager is excellent, the staff are amazing, the food is very good and they have football screens (no sound) and great craft beers. All in all well worth a visit, keep up the good work. See you again soon ;-)

Incredible alcohol selection with a variety of craft beers. Delicious food too, we had both chana masala and Lamb Keema which exceeded expectations. Very nice ambience and the staff were extremely attentive, checking if we’re okay regularly and if we needed any more drinks or food. Highly recommend 5*

Visited recently and just dropped in without a booking, it was a little awkward as the place was relatively empty and when asked if we had a booking and we got the impression that it was booked up and someone had to check the computer. However upon being seated we were pleasantly surprised with the craft beers available, and the food was bang on. Absolutely delicious and fresh. Staff were friendly and approachable. And I’m sorry to say this, but the beer keg urinals in the men’s, the craftsmanship, never seen anything like it!

I read a few things on here from fellow desi folk that had me worried about visiting this pub - restaurant, but I'm glad I still went here regardless. Visited on a weekday lunchtime. Was getting lively around then but not crazily busy, which is good. Staff were great, very polite and attentive. The Large Mixed Grill surprised me as it is the most equally balanced one I've had, not overloaded with wings like most of them, and four lamb chops were on it! The only downside is you have to pay extra if you want fish on there. That said, they accidentally put a piece of salmon on mine so I got lucky! Beer selection is good, I found one I really liked so had a cheeky 2nd pint. I have a Solihull BID card so managed to get 10% knocked off the bill.
