About This Pub
Ah, Sunnyhurst Pub – it's one of those hidden gems tucked away near the beautiful Sunnyhurst Woods and that iconic Darwen Tower, isn't it? I have to say, it's just the ticket for a laid-back afternoon or evening; the staff are absolute stars, always greeting you with a smile and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really adds to the homely feel. Pair that with their solid selection of beers and those tasty bar snacks like the handmade pies and the Thursday 'Chippy Tea' special, and you've got yourself a proper treat after a good walk. The beer garden is another highlight – it's a lovely spot to unwind with friends on a nice day, soaking in the views. But, fair's fair, it's not without its quirks; things can get a tad chaotic during events, like when there's a party on, which might put a damper on the peace if you're after some quiet time. Plus, with limited food choices and no bookings, it's best to pop in early, and that Monday closure is a bit of a nuisance. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the good bits far outweigh the minor niggles.

We stopped off at this lovely friendly pub after walking up to the tower the person are so nice very polite also dog friendly too which is a bonus 😊
Lovely people, great staff, nice and peaceful especially following an inspiring walk up to Darwen Tower. Tip: Sit in their sun trapped beer garden.
As I walked in to this beautiful rural pub at the bottom of the walkway to darwen tower. I was greeted by a very kind man who told me and my mum to take a seat. He looked after us and made us feel welcome. I strongly recommend this pub as your next visit.
Not the best day to call in as children's party in full flow with the accompanying noise, mess and chaos. We took our drinks outside to sit with our dogs and a 6/7yr old said, "mummy you said dogs are not allowed as they're smelly and noisy?" To which I responded, " not as noisy, rude and bad mannered as you!"
So it was a very short visit on this occasion I'm sad to say....
Just wanted to write a very quick review to say I have used the area surrounding the pub for years to walk up to Darwen Tower and have occasionally needed to use the pub toilets or stand in the doorway. I was with a scout group last week and had to take a child in to use the toilet. The staff have always been accommodating and very friendly. The users are of the pub are always talkative and kind. If you’re in the area then it’s a fantastic location for walks. As someone who doesn’t drink I can’t just the beer 😃 but if it’s anything like the staff and its customers - then it will be alreet!
