About This Pub
Ah, Loom & Shuttle – what a delightful find in Darwen! I have to say, it's one of those places that really hits the mark for a good evening out. The cocktails are genuinely brilliant; I've heard so many people going on about that Old Fashioned, and from what I've gathered, it's no exaggeration – they're made with real skill and care. Pair that with the super friendly staff who make you feel welcome straight away, and you've got a spot that's perfect for catching up with mates over a drink. The atmosphere is just lovely too, all cosy and inviting with nice decor that adds to the charm. On the downside, if you're someone who prefers beers that aren't too hoppy or citrusy, you might find the selection a tad limited, which is a pity for those after something with more depth. Oh, and it's a bit of a letdown that there aren't any snacks or sharing plates to munch on, as that would make it even better for a full evening. All in all, though, it's a cracking little bar that's worth a visit if you're in the area – I'd definitely pop back for another round of those fabulous cocktails!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The cocktails are absolutely spot on – especially the Old Fashioned, which folks rave about as being expertly crafted and a real standout.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the get-go with their warm service.
-
It has a lovely, cosy atmosphere with great decor that makes for a relaxing spot to unwind.
-
There's a solid selection of beers and cocktails, offering just enough variety to keep things interesting without overwhelming you.
-
Service is quick and efficient, so you won't be left waiting around for your drinks.
Cons
-
The beer options lean towards hoppy and citrusy styles, which might not appeal if you're after something more like a deep craft lager or amber ale.
-
It's a bit of a shame there's no small sharing plates or snacks on offer, as it could leave you wanting something to nibble on alongside your drinks.

Best place to drink in Darwen, proper cocktails made with skill best old fashioned I have ever tasted
Best old fashioned I’ve ever had. Arthur’s cocktails are to die for. What an absolutely amazing bar. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and quick service. Will definitely be back.
Great little pub, good beer, fabulous cocktails ❤️
Very Friendly as soon as I got in, very friendly welcome.
I do wish larger from breweries would stop tasting hoppy and citrus, just like the IPA’s they’re just not for me. These places lack a nice craft larger/Amber ales with Depth. That’s just my personal taste and what unfortunately keeps me out of most of these places but this one for the the Bourbon!
If you like IPAs this is another place for you :)
Lovely well presented place, lovely plants, and posters that all go well with each other. A really good selection of Bourbons which is rare. Cocktails and nice tunes. Warm and cosy.f
Lovely little bar with really nice cosy decor! The beer and cocktail menu choices is very good too not to over the top but enough to keep anyone happy. The guys there were really nice too and service was spot on. Only think we think it's lacking is some small sharing plates or snacks. We'll be back next time. Thanks guys
