About This Pub
Ah, the Star & Scorpion – it's one of those places that really grows on you in Ealing, with its buzzing atmosphere and top-notch cocktails that make for a cracking start to any evening out. I love how they've got this hidden gem of a garden with those cosy cabins; they're heated, have big screens for the match, and even let you play your own music, which is just brilliant for a laugh with friends or a special occasion. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and quick service that makes you feel right at home. On the flip side, though, the food's a bit of a let-down sometimes – portions aren't as generous as they used to be, and it doesn't always hit the mark flavour-wise, so you might walk away wishing for more. Still, if you're after a solid spot for drinks and a good vibe, it's worth a visit, but maybe keep expectations in check for the grub.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The cocktails are absolutely spot on – some of the best you'll find in Ealing, perfect for kicking off a great night.
-
Their secret pub garden with heated luxury cabins is a real winner; ideal for groups, parties, or catching the footie with Sky Sports, and you can even book them for free.
-
The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, making everyone feel welcome and looked after.
-
They offer a cracking selection of American-inspired dishes like steaks, burgers, and sourdough pizzas, which hit the spot for a hearty meal.
-
It's got flexible spaces that make it brilliant for everything from a quiet dinner to lively celebrations with mates.
Cons
-
Portion sizes have taken a bit of a dip lately, so you might not get as much bang for your buck as you'd hope.
-
The food can be a mixed bag – some dishes just don't quite live up to expectations and aren't always to everyone's taste.
-
Value for money on drinks and meals could be better; there are other places around that offer similar for a tad less.
-
The outdoor garden can feel a bit nippy, even with the heaters, so it's not always the coziest spot in cooler weather.

The place is nice, their private huts in the garden are a key feature, make any occasion better. However, the portion sizes and what you get on the plate are nowhere near what they were, drinks were good but again, better value can be found elsewhere. There are some great features such as access to a tv and wifi, speakers. A pretty good place just a bit disappointing if you’ve been here before.
The place was very quiet, so we had a choice of seats.
We decided to go to the garden.
Was very cold outside, but heaters are available in every room, so it's okay.
We could also put our own music, which was great.
People working there were polite
Only let down was food, which wasn't my cup of tea.
I had chops and my friend ribs. Ribs looked way too much done .
Calamari wasn't the one I expected.
But I would love to re visit one day .

The good was huge portions and so yummy!
Jeff was amazing - special shout out to him. What an incredible man with great customer service.
They have really nice luxurious indoor seating and outdoor cabins. They also have DJ and music for after party. I will come again.
Visited on first Friday of November for the first time for a friend's birthday. We were put out in the garden area in a booth as the main part of the pub was booked out for a private party. On arrival I was impressed with the big TV screen showing lovely scenes of holiday locations, it gave a nice vibe to the bar area.
For some reason they put all the heaters off around 9pm so it was rather cold for the rest of the evening and even inside the booth we all had to wear our jackets. Drinks prices were slightly above average considering it's West Ealing. When I bought a round of drinks, I felt the price was quite high so I asked to see what I'd been charged for only to find I'd been charged £25 for 2 cocktails that I hadn't ordered - no one in our crowd (which was mostly males) was drinking cocktails. The chap said he thought it was my tab, I had at no stage asked for a tab and thought it was cheeky that the overcharged monies were then returned to me in cash. Imagine this had happened later in the evening and it wasn't questioned. I really hope it was a genuine error and not deliberate. We had a good time anyway, as they say, it's the company that makes for a good event, not always the venue.
At 11pm we were told we needed to get out of the booths, never mind that they had continued serving us drinks right up till 11. We moved inside the pub and had to hang around at the rear of the pub as the private party was in full swing. I'm not sure I'd visit again in a hurry but definitely would not want to be seated outside during winter months!
(Surprisingly) the best brunch in Ealing at the moment! We decided to stop by on the way back when we saw they'd started to serve brunch. The menu was amazing and varied and the staff were lovely. They asked us for feedback on the new menu and we honestly didn't have any. Been thinking about it since- we will be back- highly recommend for all locals!
