St. Machar Bar in Aberdeen

You know, I popped into St. Machar Bar the other day and it really hit the spot – it's tucked away in a lovely part of Aberdeen with that classic old architecture vibe. What stands out most is their incredible whisky range; they've got everything from a bargain at £3.50 to some fancy ones up to £35, and the staff are absolute gems, always ready with a tip or a story about their collection. The atmosphere is just brilliant, buzzing with students, academics, and tourists all getting along famously. The food's decent too – I had the fresh fish which was spot on, though I'll admit the chips were from frozen, so it's not quite gourmet level. It's a cosy little place, mind you, which means it fills up fast and can feel a bit squished on busier nights. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a chat, with plenty of positives that make up for the minor niggles, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.
