About This Pub
You know, if you're ever in Aberdeen and looking for a pub that feels like a proper local haunt, the Rowan Tree Bar really hits the spot. From what folks have said, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome – think Mark and Leeanee being absolute stars, as Andrew put it – and it's brilliant for groups, whether it's a hen party with great tunes or a midweek bingo night that keeps things entertaining. It's clean, affordable, and even smoker-friendly, which is a nice bonus for those who fancy a ciggie. On the flip side, there's a bit of chatter about the costs going up, like the rates doubling and sky-high electric bills, which could put a dampener on things if it means higher prices or changes down the line. Still, with that solid 4.1 rating and all the positive buzz, it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself – you'd probably have a cracking time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff at Rowan Tree Bar are incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home, just like Andrew mentioned when he said he's never been made more welcome anywhere.
-
It's got a lively atmosphere with fantastic music and fun events like bingo nights, perfect for a group outing or a casual evening, as Karen and James shared from their experiences.
-
The place is clean and comfortable, with easy access for smokers, making it a breeze for those who need a quick break outside.
-
It's an inexpensive spot that's great for all ages, whether you're out with friends or just stopping by for a pint, and that old-fashioned charm adds a nice touch of character.
Cons
-
There are hints of rising costs, like the doubled rates and hefty electric bills mentioned in one review, which might mean prices could creep up or affect the vibe in the future.
-
The online presence seems a bit lacking, with some issues accessing the website, so it might not be the easiest place to check out details before heading over.

I moved from Birmingham to Aberdeen, this is my closest pub. I've never been made more welcome anywhere. Mark and Leeanee are amazing. Highly recommended
First time in the bar,as a group of Hens on a night out, fantastic music, great bar staff good night was had by all,
Really nice bar. Good host and, to top it all, the Gents toilet has retained the old fashioned ‘pee wall’! Pity the rates for the place gave more than doubled and the electric bill will be ginormous!
What an amazing bar honestly staff are very friendly we asked about having a bingo night and they put on a bingo night every Wednesday we all feel very comfortable and relaxed i would most definitely recommend this place to everyone young or old
