About This Pub

Ah, Spring Tide – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a laid-back afternoon or evening in Lowestoft. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff are absolute gems, always cheerful and ready to accommodate, whether it's tweaking a meal or giving your furry friend a treat. The food's a real highlight too; think piping hot dishes with plenty of flavour, and that beer garden is brilliant for when the weather's on your side – imagine tucking into a burger and chips with a cold drink in the sunshine. They've got some cracking offers like 30% off mains, which adds a nice touch if you're watching the pennies. On the flip side, it might sting the wallet a bit more than your average local, and the opening hours can seem a bit muddled, so planning ahead is key. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable outing, with that family-friendly vibe making it easy to pop in for a quick bite or a full meal – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the little niggles.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make you feel right at home – like that time they sorted out a meal swap without any fuss.
  • The food is spot on, with generous portions and tasty options from pub classics to pizzas, and don't miss the specials like 30% off mains if you're looking for a bargain.
  • It's a proper family and dog-friendly spot, perfect for a relaxed day out with a beer garden that's ideal for soaking up the sun or enjoying a stroll nearby.
  • The atmosphere is warm and inviting, especially with events and a great selection of cask ales and wines to choose from.
Cons
  • It can feel a tad pricey at times, as one mate mentioned after treating themselves to fish and chips, though the portions make it worth it if you're hungry.
  • The opening times might be a bit confusing with varying schedules listed, so it's wise to double-check before heading out to avoid any disappointment.

We arrived an hour early due to a change in circumstances, and the staff were very kind to seat us right away. Everything was clean, and the staff were polite. We were able to change my daughter's meal; the menu stated it came with peas, but we switched it to beans. All three meals were served hot. While we waited, my daughter went outside to the play area. The only downside was the long wait between courses, and our server didn’t inform us how long the wait would be. However, I noticed that the customer next to us was told by their server that there was a 35-minute wait for their food, so it would have been nice to be informed as well.

My wife our dog, Molly, and I had a lovely lunchtime meal, Bank Holiday Monday. Friendly courteous staff, especially the lady supervisor, who gave Molly a biscuit, when we left for behaving herself, which she always does, just lays under the table. Food was very good, with no issues, and staff checked if everything was OK, so attentive. Overall experience was very good, and would definitely go back when we are in the area. Many thanks to all staff.

First time coming here since we moved to Lowestoft, and although it's a little pricey, the food and service were immaculate. I ordered the Beer Battered Fish and Chips, a pub classic, and it tasted fantastic. Not to mention, the portion sizes were very generous, too. We spent just over £50 for 2 starters and 2 mains and a couple of drinks each. It's definitely not the cheapest around, but the service and food more than make up for this. Overall, I'll definitely be back in the near future. Thank you for a very pleasant experience!
