About This Pub

Ah, The Drifter – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air when you walk in. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are absolute gems; they're not just serving drinks, they're chatting away and making sure everyone feels included, which is just what you want after a long day. The beer selection is spot on, and folks have mentioned it's reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a few rounds without worrying about the wallet. Plus, there's a great setup with a pool table, telly for catching the footie, and a duke box blasting out a mix of tunes that keeps the energy up – it's perfect for a laugh with friends or even if you're popping in solo. On the flip side, their website's a bit of a mess with errors, so it's not straightforward to get the lowdown online, and since the business isn't claimed, it might not be as actively managed as some others, meaning you could run into outdated info. Overall, though, it's got that warm, community feel that's hard to beat, and with a solid 4.3 rating, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in Lowestoft – just keep an eye on those opening times to avoid any surprises!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always up for a chat which makes you feel right at home.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers and the prices won't break the bank – perfect for a casual night out.
  • It's a lively spot with a big pool table, a telly for the matches, and a duke box playing all sorts of tunes to keep things buzzing.
  • The atmosphere is spot on, with chatty regulars and a fun vibe that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself.
Cons
  • The website's a bit of a let-down with some errors, so it's not the easiest way to check out menus or events before you go.
  • As it's unclaimed on Google, it might not be as polished or up-to-date as some other places, which could mean missing out on the latest info.
  • With only a moderate number of reviews, it doesn't seem to be on everyone's radar yet, so you might not know what to expect if you're new to the area.

Not personally a big drinker myself but this pub is lovely, staff was friendly and didn't just serve you a drink and disappear they was chatting and we had a lovely chat, Prices are pretty good with what we drank a round didn't burn a hole in my wallet! The actual pub is fairly large, its got a bar area and multiple seating areas but i didn't see it all as i stayed up the bar. I noticed a pool table a few bar games as well as a electronic juke box? Definitely gonna come back again
