About This Pub

Ah, the Spread Eagle – it's one of those timeless London pubs that just draws you in with its warm vibe and all the excitement of live sports on the telly. I love how the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for the match; they're always cheerful and on point. The food's a real highlight too – think hearty meals that hit the spot after a busy day, paired with a solid range of beers and drinks. And let's not forget that handy spot in Mayfair, with a bit of outdoor seating for soaking up the city buzz on a sunny afternoon. On the flip side, though, it can turn into a bit of a squeeze during popular events like Liverpool games, where the crowds make it tough to manoeuvre or even grab a round without a queue. Still, if you're up for a lively night out and don't mind the occasional hustle, it's a cracking choice that strikes a good balance overall – just plan ahead if you're aiming for a more relaxed visit!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere for watching live sports, like football or rugby – you might even feel like you're at the stadium!
  • The food and drink selection is spot on, with tasty options that pair perfectly with a good pint.
  • Its location in the heart of Mayfair is just ideal, with a cosy outdoor area for when the weather's playing nice.
Cons
  • It can get absolutely packed during big events, making it a real struggle to get to the bar or find space.
  • There's no proper crowd control, like a doorman, which sometimes means things feel a bit overwhelming and could put a damper on the fun.

Good pub good food , only complaint is you guys need a doorman on to regulate the amount of people in the pub. So busy and packed for liverpool games you can't get to the bar, you guys would make more money with less people in like 3/4 full... people drink more when its easier to get to the bar. I would go to Marks and Spencer to get drinks and come back watch the game 😅🤷🏽🤷🏽

We visited Spread Eagle to watch a Liverpool game. I felt like I'm in Anfield. Everybody shouting and cursing, which thrilled me. Food was also nice.

Nice pub conveniently located in central London. It has a small outside area with heating, and a few tables to enjoy yourself when the weather is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, and overall service was pretty quick. The layout inside is good, leaving a reasonable amount for standing around if it is packed, but equally, there is a good amount of tables available for sitting down and having a pint and a chat as you are passing through the area. Would not have any reservations about returning next time I’m in area.

The pub was fine, they have a descent selection of drinks and nice atmosphere. The steak was very interesting and came cut in pieces that were cooked from all the sides. However there was a spot to seat on a Thursday evening which was great
