About This Pub
Ah, Smokin' Griddle in Romford – let me tell you, it's one of those places that really hits the spot for a good burger fix. I've heard from a few mates that the food is fresh as can be, with those juicy beef patties and amazing seasoned fries that leave you wanting more. They're all about quality, sourcing the finest cuts and even offering Halal options, which makes it a welcoming choice for everyone. The staff sound lovely too, always up for a chat and making things feel a bit special, like sorting out birthday treats. Plus, their delivery game's strong, so if you're kicking back at home, it's spot on for a quick order. On the flip side, it's not all perfect – a couple of people mentioned that some items, like the meat burgers or mac n' cheese, didn't quite live up to the hype, and there might be a few kitchen prep issues to keep in mind if you're picky about cross-contamination. Overall, though, with a solid 4.2 rating and those wallet-friendly deals, I'd say it's worth popping in for a bite if you're in the area and fancy something hearty – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The burgers are absolutely spot on – fresh, full of flavour, and made with top-notch British and Welsh beef that's Halal certified, which is a real winner for a diverse crowd.
-
Seasoned fries and milkshakes are spot on too; they're generous portions and taste homemade, making for a proper satisfying meal.
-
Friendly staff who go the extra mile, like making birthdays special or helping with orders, which adds a nice personal touch.
-
Great value deals, such as the £21 option for two burgers, fries, and drinks – it's budget-friendly without skimping on quality.
-
Reliable delivery service with their own drivers, so your food arrives hot and prompt, and they're open seven days a week for convenience.
Cons
-
Not every dish is a hit; some folks have mentioned the meat burgers or mac n' cheese falling short, so it might not suit everyone's tastes.
-
There are concerns about cross-contamination with pork-based products in the kitchen, which could be a worry for those with dietary preferences.
-
While the portions are generous, they might feel a bit overwhelming or inconsistent for lighter eaters, based on a few experiences shared.

Did the 2 burgers, large fries and 2 drinks deal for £21.
Food was great, definitely recommend the BBQ pulled pork chicken burger and the seasoned fries were amazing!
Got in just as it opened and ordered our food. The smell was insane just waiting for it but the taste was out of this world we left no scraps haha. We will defo be back for another good burger
Amazing food. Great staff lovely and friendly. Made my sister & brother inlaw birthday celebrations extra special 🎉 👍🏼❤️ My daughters say best burgers they've ever had 🍔
My first time having a Smash burger, but my family have been multiple times and said I must try here! Delicious! Great flavour and amazing milkshake!
Decent plant burger with a massive portion of tasty seasoned fries, kinder bueno milkshake was fairly good too. However friend who ordered meat burger and mac n cheese did not like either of these. Meat and chicken is halal, but they were clear that pork based products are prepared in the same kitchen. Nice service and food ready in 10 minutes (when quiet) as they advised.
