About This Pub
Ah, The New Inn – it's one of those classic spots that really captures the heart of a good British pub, isn't it? From the reviews I've had a look at, it's all about that cosy, welcoming atmosphere where you can pop in for a pint and feel like you're among mates. The staff sound like absolute stars, always up for a bit of a laugh and making sure everyone feels included, whether you're there for a quiet drink or to watch the game. Prices are fair too, so you won't break the bank, and it's even welcoming to dogs, which is brilliant if you're out with your four-legged friend. On the flip side, their online setup is a tad unreliable – I couldn't get much from the website, which might put you off if you're trying to check the latest details. And, let's be honest, it does get heaving at times, particularly on weekends, so if you're after a peaceful evening, you might have to time it right. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, with that traditional charm that makes it stand out, but it's not without a few niggles that keep it real.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got that genuine community vibe, where you can enjoy a chat, some banter, and maybe even catch the footie with the locals.
-
They serve up great pints at reasonable prices, keeping things affordable for a proper pub experience.
-
Dog-friendly atmosphere means you can bring your furry mate along, which is a lovely touch for casual visits.
Cons
-
The website's a bit of a letdown – it's not easy to access or get info from, which might make planning a trip tricky.
-
It can get pretty busy, especially on Sundays, so you might end up waiting a bit for service or a spot to settle in.

A proper local pub that feels like a second home for those in the area. Warm, welcoming, and full of familiar faces, The New Inn isn’t about trends—it’s about community. Great pints, friendly banter, and that comforting “everyone knows your name” vibe.
me and my boyfriend and friends went there because our friend was singing dog 🐶 friendly staff was friendly to. prides for drinks not to bad
I've been driving past the THE NEW INN for a few months and kept meaning to pop in for a pint and last Thursday I did and I'm very happy I did upon entering the pub I was greeted by the owner a tall chap with grey hair and matching grey complexion he severed me a lovely pint of guinness as he turned to put my money in the till I noticed his trousers had the buttocks removed hence his actual buttocks where exposed to myself and the elderly chap sitting at the bar with his pet squirrel I must say it was quite a surprise but I kept quite and tried not to laugh after a short time I started talking to the old boy with the squirrel and I noticed he looked quite sad I asked him if everything was OK and he said he felt sad because I reminded him of a pet sheep he and his wife used to have as you can imagine I was quite taken aback and thought he was a bit crazy but then he took a photo from his wallet and showed me his pet sheep which he named THE AMAZING ALAN I was immediately shocked at the incredible likeness between me and THE AMAZING ALAN I asked what had happened to THE AMAZING ALAN and he told me they had some financial problems due to a con man who had his life savings by getting him and his wife to invest in a fake company that sold STRING things were very tough and one night after not eating for 3 days they had to eat THE AMAZING ALAN I wanted to say i bet he tasted AMAZING but thought it might upset him I asked him if he'd like another drink but he said his squirrel was a bit tipsy and can get aggressive when drunk then he asked me if id like to meet his wife and said they only lived across the road so I agreed
Traditional old school type pub. Staff and customers friendly. Good for watching football. Visited on a Sunday very busy, but staff on the ball, served within a couple of minutes. Recommended 👍
What a great little Bar. Sandy was a real hoot behind the bar and we were even privileged enough to meet the owner Tony who was a real down to earth chap. Next time we are in the area we will be visiting.
