About This Pub

Ah, Slug & Lettuce in Coventry – what a gem for those evenings when you're in the mood for something a bit special. From what I've gathered chatting about places like this, the staff really steal the show; they're warm, attentive, and go the extra mile to ensure everything's just right, whether it's keeping your drinks topped up during a bottomless brunch or handling a lively group with ease. The food and cocktails are spot on too, with plenty of options that hit the mark for a relaxed afternoon or a proper night out, and that location near the cathedral adds a nice touch of character to the whole experience. It's got that welcoming atmosphere where you can unwind, enjoy some live music or events, and even pop in with your dog on quieter days. On the flip side, though, it does get packed at times, which might not suit if you're after a peaceful catch-up, and the evening restrictions for younger ones mean it's more geared towards adults. Prices are fair but not dirt cheap, so hunting down those offers is a smart move. All in all, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a good laugh and great memories, but just keep those busier periods in mind to plan your visit just right.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, efficient, and really make you feel welcome, like Ben, Tom, and Jaime who kept things running smoothly even during busy shifts.
  • Their bottomless brunch is a real winner, with tasty food and drinks that keep flowing, perfect for celebrations like birthdays or just a fun get-together.
  • It's in a fantastic spot right across from the cathedral, with a cool building and layout that adds to the vibe, making it a great place for a relaxed afternoon or evening out.
  • They've got loads of offers, like 2-for-1 cocktails and a loyalty app, which make it easy to enjoy without breaking the bank.
  • The atmosphere is spot on – lively but not overwhelming, with options for events and even dog-friendly policies on most days.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy, especially on weekends, which might make it a bit hectic if you're after a quiet pint.
  • There are restrictions for under-18s after 6pm, so it's not the best for family outings in the evening.
  • The pet policy is a tad unpredictable on Saturdays, as it depends on how crowded it is, which could be a letdown if you're hoping to bring your furry friend.
  • With moderate prices, it might not be the cheapest option for a night out, so keep an eye on those deals to make the most of it.

Ben, Tom and Jaime were a brilliant trio of staff keeping our drinks consistent even through a shift change. Food was great and didn’t take long to make. Overall a very pleasant experience and would recommend, will be back. Also made use of their Mixr loyalty app and points system which allowed me to cash a voucher for over half of the brunch off.

Ben was a lovely waiter at our bottomless brunch. We loved the food and he kept the drinks coming. The atmosphere was great, wasn’t too loud (but we were). We would love to have ben join us for bottomless next time, he seems like he would a vibeeee!

We went for a bottomless brunch for a family members birthday and it was absolutely brilliant. I enjoyed everything about it the food, drinks, atmosphere and would highly recommend Joel who served us all. He was very efficient and friendly and coped extremely well with a table of 10 people.
