About This Pub

Ah, Seven Stars Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Derby, you know? From the reviews I've seen, it's got this warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The staff really stand out; they're friendly and attentive, always up for a chat, which adds to that homely feel. And let's not forget the beer garden – it's spacious and seems like a brilliant spot for a sunny afternoon, perfect if you're after somewhere to unwind with mates. Plus, the prices are fair, so you can have a few rounds without worrying about the bill. On the downside, if you're someone who loves exploring a wide range of real ales, you might find the selection a tad limited, especially in a city like Derby that's known for its beer scene. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back night out, and with that high rating, I'd say it's worth popping in to see for yourself – just keep an eye on the opening times to avoid any surprises!

Pros and Cons

  • It's got a lovely historic vibe and a spacious beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun on a nice day.
  • Prices are spot on – you can enjoy a good pint without it costing an arm and a leg.
  • The atmosphere is just right for a quiet midweek catch-up, with a cozy, welcoming feel that keeps you coming back.
Cons
  • The real ale selection is a bit on the slim side, which might leave ale lovers wanting more options.
  • Some of the reviews are from a while back, so things might have changed, and it's hard to get the full picture without a website for updates.

I've lived a stones throw from this place for about a decade now and I've only just started visiting. It's a great little pub. Excellent service with a spacious beer garden outside. Can't go wrong.

Friendly historic pub with wonderful beer garden. Despite numerous attempts by the local council to destroy it due to its location between two arterial roads,it survives. Friendly atmosphere, good choice of drinks. M

A small, very old pub (established "circa 1680") on the edge of Derby city centre. It's certainly one of the prettiest and coziest public houses in Derby, but the real ale selection - considering that the town prizes itself as the real ale capital of Britain, and rightly so - is rather small indeed. Do come for the great, historic decor and the smell of times past. Staff are friendly.
