About This Pub

Ah, Salt Bar Restaurant – it's one of those places that just feels like a reliable old mate in South Harrow, you know? I've heard from folks who've been going for years, and it's clear why it's got that 4.2 rating; it's got plenty going for it. The staff are an absolute delight, always chatting and making sure everything's just right, which really sets a warm tone for the evening. Pop in for live sports, and you'll find the atmosphere buzzing, especially if you're up for a pint or some shisha – it's all reasonably priced, so you can enjoy without worrying about the wallet. The food's a mixed bag, mind you; some bits like the mixed grill are generous and tasty enough to rave about, but overall, it's not going to blow your socks off – more pub grub than gourmet fare. Still, with quick service and no pressure to dash off, it's ideal for a laid-back night. On the downside, it could use a bit of a tidy-up to make it feel fresher, and honestly, if you're after something fancy, you might want to look elsewhere. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed hangout, especially if you're in the area and fancy something straightforward and friendly – just keep your expectations realistic for that true pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • It's got a great atmosphere with live sports on show, perfect for catching a match with your mates.
  • Drinks and food are reasonably priced, so you won't feel like you're breaking the bank for a good time.
  • Some dishes are spot on, like the generous mixed grill or the amazing shisha, which keeps people coming back.
  • Service is quick and you're not rushed, allowing for a relaxed evening out.
Cons
  • The food can be a bit average overall, with some dishes hitting the mark and others falling short.
  • The place could do with a good clean to freshen things up and make it even more inviting.
  • It's more of a pub that serves food rather than a proper restaurant, so expectations should be set accordingly.

Look. The food is average, but not over priced. Its a Pub that does food, not a restaurant that does drinks. Room for improvement. Some dishes are better than others. Staff are nice and friendly. They show live sports. Atmosphere is good. Drinks are reasonably priced. Can do with a good clean, tables and chairs are dirty. Decent spot for the lads, however you guys could increase your revenue flow if you done some cosmetic work to the interior. I would go back, I do like this spot, and the staff are cool.

My first visit to the Salt Bar restaurant was a delightful experience! We ordered the small mixed grill for £12, which was a generous portion containing two succulent kebabs, two perfectly cooked chicken wings, two tender lamb pieces, two flaky fish pieces, and a large, flavourful lamb chop. It was cooked just right with a warm and aromatic blend of spices – truly delicious! We enjoyed it so much we decided to order an extra portion. For our main meal, we shared a fragrant Lamb biryani, flavourful bindi (okra), rich Keema, plump king prawns, and a wonderfully garlicky chilli naan. Everything was exceptionally well prepared and utterly delicious. The staff were also polite and attentive, adding to the positive experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the welcoming atmosphere at the Salt Bar pub!

Hard place to beat, Karak Lounge @ Salt Bar in Harrow is a vibe. Haven’t had a bad experience here and I’ve been frequenting this place for almost 10 years. Jay and the gang make every single Shaks makes the best shisha and if you like Dark Leaf these guys know the score. Food is a 10 out of 10, the girls and boys in the bar are all super sweet. If you want a place for a good time this is the spot. You can even throw a party and be totally catered for. Good prices and great atmosphere.

I love this place, its pretty much become my go to venue. The staff are all lovely and very tentative. I always receive a warm welcome when I go but that could be because I go alot lol. The shisha is amazing and you are never rushed to leave. The food, don't even get me started on the food. AMAZING. Everything is beautiful and full of flavour you can't get enough. I'm not a massive fan of spicy but they have mastered the perfect mixed of really spicy and this taste way to good to stop eating it. Whether you are on a date, chilling with friends or just want to chilling alone. This is the perfect venue. A hidden gem in Harrow.

Lovely, quite place. The staff is friendly and the service is super quick. We ordered beer along with peanut masala and tandoori poppadom , served with mango chutney. Both the items were super duper spicy. I just loved it They do Indian food like dal tarka , chicken curry etc , which is next on my list. I would highly recommend this place.
