About This Pub

Ah, Eighty Six Restaurant & Bar – it's one of those places in Harrow that just feels like a hidden gem for a casual catch-up over drinks and dinner. From what I've gathered, the staff are an absolute delight, always on hand with a smile and quick to sort you out, which really adds to the charm. The food's a winner too, with standout starters and cocktails that leave you wanting more, and it's all served up in a cosy atmosphere that's just right for unwinding after a long day. But, let's be honest, it's not perfect – the tables are on the small side, so if you're with more than a couple of friends, you might end up feeling a bit squished. Plus, the wait for food can stretch out, and while the starters shine, some mains fall a little flat, not always as fresh as you'd hope. And watch out for the occasional rowdy crowd that can disrupt the mellow vibe. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, especially if you're going as a pair, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind to set your expectations right.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The service here is absolutely brilliant – staff are friendly, attentive, and really make you feel welcome, just like chatting with mates at the bar.
  • The food is generally spot on, with tasty starters and cocktails that hit the mark, especially if you're after something hearty and well-prepared.
  • It's got a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening out, whether you're popping in for a glass of wine or a full meal.
  • They're open seven days a week with flexible hours, making it easy to swing by after work or for a weekend treat.
Cons
  • Tables can feel a bit cramped, especially if you're with a group larger than two, which might make things a tad uncomfortable.
  • Wait times for food can drag on, sometimes up to an hour, so it's not ideal if you're in a rush.
  • Some of the mains don't quite live up to the starters, with a few dishes feeling less fresh or just so-so.
  • The vibe can be spoiled by the odd loud group, turning a peaceful night into something a bit chaotic.

Service was amazing. We were sat down at a table of 5, the table size was incredibly small and barely held 3. Food took long and nearly an hour. However the food was good and hot. Recommend if you are going as 2.

Excellent service from staff! I haven’t visited this restaurant in years, i was in the area and came in for a glass of red and some dinner, it was a lovely atmosphere. Staff were so attentive and the food was amazing. Kavya was my waitress she was fantastic. I highly recommend to all. I love the garden area, so peaceful & quiet. Definitely visiting again :) five stars!!

We loved the tapas starters but thought the mains were so so and should be just tapas, The service was friendly and reasonably fast and we liked the atmosphere too although a loud group of drunken middle-aged women ruined the atmosphere for me.

Visited again after a while and this time for food, and safe to say the food did not disappoint! The 86er burger was the only one we weren't too keen on as it didn't taste as fresh as the rest of the food, however the lamb grilled cubes were cooked perfectly and portion sizes were great. Starters/Tapas were good portions to share between 2 (wouldn't recommend more than 2 people per dish unless you get a fair few), and the mains themselves are definitely enough to fill you up! Definitely recommend the cheesy garlic bread & good but small choice of mocktails too. Would definitely come back again and pick more off the menu 😊

Visited EightySix Restaurant and Bar this evening in Harrow, didn’t go in with much expectation. On first sight the restaurant looked small when you enter it’s much bigger inside. On entering we were greeted and given the choice to choose our table. Not long after we got seated, the waiter came and handed us the menu. We ordered the spicy wings, veg burger and the chicken burger and the churros for dessert. The veg burger was actual veg, I was genuinely surprised because most places you go it’s plant based and it did not disappoint, the chicken burger was even better with the special burger sauce, amazing. The staff were friendly, approachable and very helpful. Food was amazing, the atmosphere was brilliant. I will definitely be visiting again.
