You know, I had a great time at Sadler's Cat the other week, and it's just the sort of spot you'd want for a laid-back evening in Manchester. They've got this brilliant line-up of beers from Cloudwater, a local brewery, and it's all served up in a way that feels fresh and exciting – whether you're into cask ales or something a bit more adventurous. The beer garden is an absolute winner, especially when the weather plays ball, giving you that perfect outdoor space to unwind. The staff are dead chatty and make you feel welcome straight away, and the quirky decor with good music in the background really adds to the community feel. It's easy to pop in after a day out, being so close to Victoria Station and all. But honestly, there are a few downsides that keep it from being perfect – the toilets were a bit grim, with that musty smell and not everything in tip-top shape, which is a shame because it could spoil the end of your night.
