About This Pub

Ah, Robins Bar in Newmains – it's one of those places that really warms you up on a chilly evening, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, the staff are just brilliant; Robin and Brian come across as real pros who keep things ticking along nicely, and the crowd is always up for a laugh, making it feel like a proper community hub. With a stellar 4.6 rating from folks who've popped in, it's clear this spot does a lot right, like fostering that friendly atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy yourself. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – there are a couple of gripes about drinks not being up to scratch, with some saying they're watered down or not what's ordered, and it's a shame there's no alcohol-free options for those who fancy a soft one. Plus, for being in a more run-down part of town, the prices might leave you scratching your head a bit. Still, if you're after a solid local for a pint and some good company, it's worth a go, just keep those niggles in mind so you're prepared.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolute legends, like Robin and Brian, who really know how to run a pub and make everyone feel welcome.
  • It's got a fantastic, friendly crowd that makes for a proper cosy atmosphere, perfect for a good chat and a pint.
  • Overall, it's a well-run local spot with a solid 4.6 rating, so you can count on a generally brilliant experience.
Cons
  • Some folks have mentioned watered-down drinks and mix-ups with orders, which could put a dampener on your night.
  • There's no alcohol-free beer options, which might not suit those who are driving or looking for non-alcoholic choices.
  • It feels a bit overpriced for the area, especially in what some describe as a run-down neighbourhood, so it might not be the best value.

Never again. Watered down drinks. Wrong things put in glasses constantly.. no alcohol free beers. ( don't ask driver) Overpriced too for being in the middle of a run down scheme. Gets 1 star cause it used to be a good celtic pub....used to be
